I was losing faith in frozen pizzas...but Red Baron gives me hope. My moms had some coupons so she bought some 3 meat pizzas. The crust is thin and crisy, with sausage, canadian bacon and pepperoni toppings. It tastes great, really good especially for a frozen pizza.

I had this once and it was awful.I should have known better than to buy pizza made by a knighted German fighter ace.

I am astonished that Red Baron has so many good reviews, it is one of my all time most disliked frozen pizzas! It's awful. I did a taste comparison in which I tested it directly against Tombstone, original crust pepperoni to original crust pepperoni, and I could tell just by looking at the frozen pizzas alone how this story was going to end!The Red Baron pepperonis were thin and orange in color, the cheese sparse, and the overall tone a little brown and dingy looking. On the other hand the Tombstone was bright in tone, red sauce and thick, red pepperonis. The Tombstone melted and browned better and came out with a fluffier cheese and sauce texture, crispy crust edges, and a spicier sauce; while the Red Baron turned out to be crunchy, bland, but slightly sweet tasting, (and not a good kind of sweet, a bad quality kind of sweet).Anyway, long story short my boyfriend and I finished the rest of the Tombstone and threw out the rest of the Red Baron as neither of us wanted any more of it.

I had a Red Baron frozen pizza last night. It tasted great, but it was a little small, although it was the singles. If you are hungry get more than one. Overall, Red Baron is very good.

Red Barron combination pizza is okay, it takes me back to the days when that was really the best frozen pizza available, and my grandma would make it some times for a quick snack. A lot has changed over the years. But for some reason, i do not like the Mexican style pizza at all! The sauce has a synthetic fake flavor taste to it and was disappointed. i threw away a lot of it. 1 star for the Mexican style, and 3 stars for the classic combination pizza.

Very good pizza. Good cheese and good crust. In my opinion, It's better than DiGiorno.

We all know the best frozen pizza comes from California Pizza Kitchen. I just had a Red Baron all new thin crust pizza....very very good it was close to California....better crust....for real
MissPackRat4Je sus 11/14/2007
The crust is crispy, even when cooked in the microwave. Not bad at all.

I remember hating this pizza brand in the 1980's, but Red Barron pizza has come along way over the years, probably because of a more competitve frozen pizza market (thanks to the newer "rising crust" pizzas). I classify Red Barron pizza as the king of the "old school" frozen pizza brands. It's about as good as your gonna get (and trust me folks, i've tried them all) outside of the newer "rising crust" pizza's that are heavily marketed by food manufactures. Red Barron pizza has a simple traditional style frozen pizza crust that has improved over the years, toppings that are better than average, and an amount of cheese that is better then alot of other frozen pizzas i've seen out there. It cooks pretty good, and eats better than average. One thing that this type of frozen pizza has going for it, is the fact that your not going to have to worry about the center not getting done, and it won't taste like a biscuit. I think alot of people who eat the "rising crust" style pizzas get tired of them after awhile, and like to try the more traditional style frozen pizzas agian (or at least for awhile anyway). Regardless, Red Barron Pizza still sells, and i think it's a pretty damn good frozen pizza, especially when your favorite pizza chain is closed for the night.

I get the Red Baron French Bread pizzas once in a while. It's alright.

1 step below the rising crust pizzas
PeterNorth 05/02/2007
After a long night of banging nothing beats throwing a Red Barron in the oven, it hits the spot. The pizzas are loaded with cheese and toppings and the crust is excellent.

Ok, I've been reading the frozen pizza reviews on here and there is something I need to get off my chest about some of my fellow posters. If you are going to post a rant on here about how pizza should not be frozen, please take it somewhere else. The topic is NOT how frozen pizza sucks, it is to compare (in this case) Red Baron frozen pizza to OTHER FROZEN PIZZAS. Perhaps in Degiorno's case it might be acceptable because they base their advertising campaign around "it's not delivery", but I've read the same anti frozen pizza rants in almost all the frozen pizza review sections. Give it a rest already. Some of these reviewers are in the "Top 50" or "Top 10", or whatever. Top 10 of what? Top 10 unhelpful reviews?? Gah! These same reviewers then call Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's as the "Best"??? I doubt that these reviewers have EVER put a REAL pizza in their mouth, almost every town in America has a mom and pop run pizzaria that serves a better pie than the big chains. On to the actual TOPIC: Red Baron frozen pizza. For the price, it can't be beat. The crust isn't too thin like some, or too dough-y like Digiorno's or some of the other "self-rising" frozen pizza out there. The sauce is good, and the smell when it is done cooking is one of the best (for frozen pizza). I generally get either the peperoni or their 3 meat pizza, and I've found that they are more generous with the topings than even some of the more expensive (Digiorno's, Freshetta, etc). On the topic of price, I've found Red Baron does seem to be on sale more often than not at the local grocery store; thus making it even more of a bargain. My only complaint (and this is frozen pizza industry wide, not just Red Baron) is these new fangled SQUARE pizzas that they keep introducing to the market. They are impossible for me to cook on my Pizzaz pizza cooker (without cutting off the corners).
Dude25 11/15/2006
The "Nike" of frozen pizza. Lower priced cardboard...up to higher priced (rising crust) which compares well with others.
adream 08/05/2006
Red baron's think crust pizza is actually quite alright. The crust is somewhat moist and crispy with the right ballance of ingrediencts (supreme) although too much sauce underneath. Overall a good frozen pizza. Deffinately above tombstone or jack's.
Monkee555 07/31/2006
It has very good Pepperonis and the cheese is pretty good, but there's too much sauce and the crust is lacking.
SanDiegoFunkDa ddy 07/08/2006
Putrid! The worst I ever tasted. They are always on sale too, that means they are not selling. If you like the taste of weird chemicals, this pizza is for you!
mstarcom 07/06/2006
Not great. Just above average
chefgregg 03/23/2006
What ever happened to the Red Baron brand Mexican Style pizza? For about a nanosecond they were everywhere: Walmart, Giant Eagle, even Marc's. Then they disappeared. Why? The same thing is going on with Squirt (a very good soft drink). The best tasting and most digestible store-bought pizza I ever tried. Just add a dose of fresh chopped onion and you have yourself a healthy meal. Crispy and good. Please don't let that one get away.
sfalconer 02/13/2006
Repeat after me, "Frozen Pizza Sucks." God never intended for us to eat frozen pizza it is a crime against all that is holly.
magellan 11/06/2005
The Red Baron frenchbread pizzas are not awful, but not in the same class as Stouffers. They're a little too sweet or something...
dalewh7 02/21/2005
Tastes ok. FYI it is a pizza made by Schwan's. Schwan's has pizza's that are better than Red Baron even though Schwan's owns them.
Golden Bear 02/11/2005
Their French bread pizza is much worse than Stouffer's. Crust is rock hard, toppings are skimpy, sauce is sickly sweet, and the whole thing just tastes like an artificial substitute for food rather than the real thing.
Uberdweeb 01/10/2005
Their Mexican style pizza is the best frozen pizza out there.
frogger20190 09/20/2004
Yuck. Too much pepperoni. This is a heart attack waiting to happen.
dragonman 08/19/2004
My favorite frozen pizza.
spirit510 07/14/2004
This is a very good one. I like thin pizzas and as far as store bought brands go Red Baron's are the best that I've tried. Delicious!
kymsparky 07/10/2004
I love the new french bread pizza.
ClassicTVFan47 06/01/2004
Fair...but no frozen pizza can match up to Pizza Hut or Papa John's.
alisalisalisa 03/03/2004
I was shocked when I recently ate this forzen pie. It was crispy (hard to find) and pleasing to the palate. Three cheese and pepperoni thin crust are both very good. No more parlors for me.
Trix 03/01/2004
I generally can't stand frozen pizza-pizza is my fave food and you just can't equal a pizzeria and it's so easy to just pick one up but I do keep the frozen one around for the rainy day and of all the frozen one's I have ever had Tombstone and Essensia are the only ones that were alright and the only one's that I will ever get. Red Barron is awful. In fact, of all frozen pizzas that I've tried RB and Tony's are the absolute worst: rock hard thin crusts, thick sickly sweet sauces...I could have done just fine without the experiences.
DickWeener 01/02/2004
The Mexican style Red Baron Pizza is good stuff. One of my favorite frozen Pizza's. The quality is great considering the price. I went to the store they had a sale going , a really good sale, Red Baron pizza for $1.89 ya that is right $1.89 for a 16-18 oz pizza. In my home town I can always find it on sale, alot of the time I can get them for under $3.00 how can a person go wrong?
Redbird294 09/03/2003
For a frozen pizza, it's pretty darn expensive. They seem to skimp on the cheese too; I end up having to buy my own to put on it. I like the taco style pizza, though.

ITS GOOD.
kahfess 06/01/2003
I love pizza! So for me, when it’s just not possible to get out and visit my local pizzeria, then I head for the oven. Red Barron Pizza’s get two thumbs up from me when it comes to frozen pizza. Not that frozen pizza’s are usually anything to get excited about, but the three cheeses version of the Red Barron Pizza is a great substitute for going out when that pizza craving hits.
Redoedo 05/27/2003
Pretty much the same as Tombstone's Pizza. Pretty good considering its competition.
crimson_and_cl over 02/10/2003
its not that bad. not the worst pizza ive ever had but it aint the best either.
callmetootie 01/22/2002
Has a very sweet, unlikeable taste to it, and they give you a very small portion.
