Retired last year, did a good job with the Expos, not as good with The Giants. Fine ballplayer in the 60's. Now that he's retired, he can join San Francisco general manager Brian Sabean in nightly grave robbing of the deceased great players of the past, I think they reanimate them like Frankenstein. I'm telling you they don't allow you to play for that decrepit bunch unless you died around the time of the McKinley administration, I think I saw Old Hoss Radbourn warming up throwing the ball to King Kelly at their stadium the other day..

whoa big fella whoa Larry Krueger is Satan? a bit of hyperbole, felipe. why dont you take the criticism constructively and tell your team to be smarter at the plate? in case you hadnt noticed, they suck.

In a perfect economic world he would have atleast one series ring with the Expos. Seems to maximize the talent he is given.

after Bonds and Schmidt the giants have a bunch of players that would be on the bench of almost every other team and they still winning. he takes bench players and maketham lock so good that you believe that he really have a team! i would love to see Joe Torre under that situation...he is definitely the best manager in the majors.

A good manager. Except for Schmidt and Bonds, the team sucks, yet they're STILL winning. Why? Felipe Alou.

Great with Montreal and young, talented players. Let's see how well he does with proven veterans.

Appears to be a great developer of talent. His one real shot at a pennant vanished in the strike of 1994. Until he wins something real, I can't go higher than three stars.

He's OK. But should he be doing this at age 67?

The last time they let this guy have a major league team(1994), Alou had them killing the Braves in their division. Given the poor state of affairs involving the Expos, the strike of '94 may have robbed Alou of his only real chance at a ring. I respect the hell out of his loyalty. He could have left, but he has stood by the team that gave him a shot when no one else would. He certainly gets more out of the AAA teams they set him up with then any other manager could, with the possible exception of Dusty Baker. I can't ever recall thinking "what a stupid decision" when watching Alou manage a game. I can't say that of any other manager.

Screw Canada Felipe,Come back to the states and be appreciated.

He exports more players out of Canada then the country itself. He is by far the best at getting the best out of his players.

Good manager, wrong team.

Now that the Expos have a new owner, maybe Alou will get some players (and more importantly, keep some of their players). If he does, you can bet that he will be able to put a winner on the field.
