I think it is positive that when Ricki encounters homophobia from the guests on her show she always highlights and registers her disapproval of it. The fact that she does this consistently and non-patronizingly I feel is very effective.

Ricki Lake always makes a point to put gay people on her show and in episodes where gay people can be seen realistically without being stereotyped. She has always been a generous supporter of many gay charities and is always on the side of gays. Great person !
