When she first came out with "Holiday," I thought she was cute and sexy as hell. Those first few hits of hers were pop masterpieces: catchy hooks with danceable rhythms and innocuous lyrics. Later her lifestyle choices and public statements turned me off. I think fame has a way of corrupting the soul.

The Evolution of Music, Dance Music, and Pop Music is cenetered around Madonna. The acceleration of the 80's Dance music was due to Madonna. The advancement of Techno Music is due to the "Ray Of Light" CD/Album. Music had more value after Ray of Light, rather than before it. As someone else has mentioned, she's not the best actress, but the Queen of re-invention is at it again. Being a DJ, I know good music. Madonna never has a bad dance song. Never.

Has put out some decent songs, but is overrated when it comes to singing ability, and she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag. I don't know what all this stuff is about her religion and the whole Esther thing.

Madonna does what Madonna is best at, she entertains. She is very good at reinventing herself. Most of her abrasive and ribald antics where done strictly for shock value to catch the publics attention, and did they ever! I am even guilty of humming and dancing to her music in the 80s. Although, the lyrics and rhythms were catchy, I cannot recall too many of them right off hand. As an entertainer do I take her seriously, no. Nor do I take the majority of entertainers seriously. That is why they are strictly entertainers, they engage my fancy for the moment while taking my imagination off to new adventures. I do not allow them to determine for whom I will vote for president, or what cell phone service I will use or even what brand of toothpaste I will whiten my teeth with.

she is impossible to take seriously. She's a complete has-been and aside from usupering other people's religions (which is just disgraceful) she has no soiled the world of children's literature with her no-talent scribblings. it's a crime. and she couldn't even condescend to give the very famous illustrator she worked with credit on the cover of the book. such a waste. i hope she falls in the english channel.

I've always been bemused by Madonna, never quite sure what's going on, and never really liking or disliking her music. Take her seriously? I dunno, but she still looks like she could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch, so I guess she's got something going for her.

Because Madonna is intelligent, gifted, and a downright savvy businesswoman, I think she should always be taken seriously unless she is making a joke about something. She is truly the queen of the entertainment world..I love her...
