This is my favorite from Elton. I love how there are more harmony parts added with each verse.

I can't really say that I have a favorite Elton John song because I love so many of them but this is very high on my list...in fact Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is very high on my all time favorite album lists! The second time I saw Elton in concert he opened with Grey Seal, boy did it wake the room up!

Grey Seal was originally released in two versions: the more acoustic sounding version as the B-side to Rock And Roll Madonna in 1970 (both now included as bonus tracks on the full-length Elton John) and the more familiar version released on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in 1973. Grey Seal is driving single which is full of energy, definitely one of the lost gems of Elton's earlier efforts (not too mention one that has not suffered from excess air play).
