Spending time with your future spouse and really getting to know them for who they are before jumping into a marriage should help out on this one a bit. However, I do know that there have been occasions when no matter how much time you spend with your future mate, it doesn't make a difference. But it couldn't possibly hurt to try.

On the one hand, that's what conjugal visits are for. On the other, ratting her out and sending her to the Big House gives you the opportunity to take all the loot and not have to share. It's likely that you can find some sexy thing in Rio to help you spend it.Which option you choose all depends on the nature of the marriage....

At the very least you should consider this a warning sign of some sort.
It's also probably a good idea to find out where they stashed the loot before they go off to do their hard time.

Five shanks in the back.Shit, the poor guy's already doing time as it is. What's the difference. At least the guards won't ask him if he mowed the lawn or fixed the garage door.

My ex-wives couldn't spend enough time in jail to suit me.

I hear the strumming of a redneck guitar beginning a song. . .

Seems like a good reason to me... UPDATE: Hey, you wanna funny one? My ex called me a few months back while her boyfriend was in jail trying to score a booty call. Damn jailbirds...

Well, duh...let's see now. They are living in jail while you are working to make ends meet and struggling to survive...Seems to be a no brainer there!!

No one can spend their life, no matter how much they love someone, tied to a human albatross.

Probably a good reason for a divorce, although you have to wonder where the malefactor-spouse was spending his/her time before the marriage.

Yes it depends. If the husband or wife is habitual and keeps getting incarcerated to the point that he/she is not providing and setting a bad example for the children then maybe it is neccessary to move on.

Depends....on a lot of different things.

I guess I won't get a wife cuz I've been in jail over 20 times (mostly on parking violations).

Depends on why they're in.

This can be a valid reason seeing as the marriage is not important to them because they keep going to jail.

If they are in jail then they aren't with you. When I was in Oregon I knew a woman who slept around during the time her husband was in prison. I don't condone her actions but it's not like he was doing her a favor by being a criminal.
