07/10/2008 | No question. Lynyrd Skynyrd is was and always will be the greatest band of all time. Old and new skynyrd kicks ass and freebird is my all time favorite song of any song ever written by anyone in any music genre.The reason I say old and new skynyrd is because old are rock legends and achieved great things in a short period of time ,they wrote and performed amazing music.New skynyrd is awesome not only because they are terriffic performers but also because of their courage and determination. Johnny Van Zant: " I can't sing my brother's songs better than him, and I am not out here trying to,I just go out everynight and perform them to the best of my ability"... Can you even imagine the amount of balls it takes to go out every single night and fulfill such a great legacy? Kudos to new skynyrd for keeping the music and memory of old skynyrd alive.

10/19/2007 | I wouldn't say that they are the best band of all time, but I have no problem saying that they are the best band that is currently on this list. I would definitely consider their pre-plane crash material to be classic, but while I'm probably in the minority on this one, I think I like their more recent, slightly more country sounding stuff even better.

06/14/2007 | Look, they were talented musicians, and as far as Southern Rock goes, they were one of the best of that genre, but to proclaim them the "Best Band Ever" is rediculous! "Freebird" is a classic, but it's also the most trumped up redneck trailer park anthem of all time. Everytime I hear it blasting at a red light, I look over and see 25 year old pick up trucks or muscle cars full of toothless, unwashed rednecks imagining they're cool rebels.
