Nice movie from Denmark set in a high school and aimed at teens who are different and do not fit in. The protagonist is a gentle (do not read wimpy) young man determined to extract what is beautiful from life and a bully who grows emotionally due to their friendship. It is about the mundane and the extraordinary.. the simple and the complex. It is about one young man's quest to fit in.. and our common human need to understand and be understood. A great movie. Especially for young people. Although considered as flawed in some technical/cinematic aspects in its time... today we see this movie as cinema verite. Gritty and realistic. On the whole it's a small gem.
