Top-flight adult western. Richard Boone was excellent as the learned and reserved problem solver that used his gun only as a last resort. I have been watching some of these shows on a dvd set my brother loaned me and am surprised at how well written they were.

I love this show! I wish they had made more of them. I wish they'd show it somewhere on tv on a regular basis.

Stylish and cerebral.

Best of the early TV Westerns. Had atmosphere, plot and a strong character. Made Bonanza look like a soap opera. Saturday night TV was great then... not like now.

Uncommon plotlines, atmospheric production values, literate scripts and outstanding performances by Richard Boone made this perhaps the most intelligent and compelling TV horse opera of its time. Makes Wagon Train, The Rifleman, Bonanza, Stoney Burke, Wanted Dead Or Alive, etc. look like cartoonish crap suitable only for the kiddies.

The hero of this show used intelligence and forethought to solve his or someone else's problems. Watching this show is time well spent.

A truly intelectual western. A cut above the rest.

Have Gun Will Travel was an interesting show. It was a little more cerebral than most westerns.
