Interesting, this was a line in Inherit the Wind made by EK Hornbeck (based on HL Menken) about the character based on WJ Bryan.

Truman had a knack for the well honed insult. He targetted Dewey's arrogance and elitism particularly well, leading to one of the bigger suprise presidential victories.
