These started off ok, but what got me were the little plastic covers for the sales tags, and the plastic boxes to protect them. You like stuffed toys, its ok with me, but why put the damn things in a box.

I agree with most posters-paying more than $10 for 1 is rediculass!

This would qualify as a kind of scam I think - but I don't feel sorry for the person who is fooled by it. It has got to be obvious that when there seems to be an unlimited supply of something it is NOT what you would really call collectible. That is, unless you expect to live to the age of 300 and further expect that at some point the larger supply of these toys will spontaniously combust. That would be about the only thing that would ever make them rare enough to go up in price. ALTHOUGH - check out Ebay sometime and see what the Pope bears are currently going for (some are Ty, some are called Holy Bears). Being easily amused, a day or so after the death of JPII, I watched the sale of one Pope Bear go from about $6.95 all the way up to a whopping $44.00. Others followed at various outrageous prices (Ebay - home of the $300 Ghost in a Jar). I couldn't believe these geniuses didn't realize that other sites (like www.stpatricksguild.com) were selling the exact same thing for a fraction of that. People are such saps sometimes!

They would have been fine if the wacko collectors never got a hold of them. My aunt spent over $2,000 grand on these ridiculous dolls. She talked about how she would wait outside the store at 5am with 100 other women to try and be the first to get the limited-edition beanies. She would tell everyone at family functions, as if anyone besides her gave a care about the newest platypus version of the stuffed animal. Like any other fad, the beanies will die out (I think they have already because she hasn't talked about them in a while) and you have a million people who wasted a fortune on garbage.

I don't buy them for a profit, or to collect, I just buy them because they are cute and make great room decorations.

Overrated, overpriced annoying stuffed toys.

Nah! I like stuffed animals.

Alright, they're cute. But, if I have to spend more than ten bucks on one, forget it!

about a 3.5. They are pretty good for the most part. They were a real pain in the neck at first because they were harder to find when the new ones came out and people were waiting in line for them. You could only get one of each style which is lousy when you have two kids. I can understand the rule since scalpers would have bought up tons of them and sold them for horrible prices. the good part is at the original price they sell for 6 or 7 dollars. affordable to a family on a budget.I would not let my kids pay more than this price for these little stuffed animals. the good part is they are a lot easier to get now. Some can be pretty cute. My kids collect to keep them and are not interested in making a profit off of them. Not too bad of a thing to collect if you do not fall into the ones trying to make megabucks selling them.
