I do have to say for the one in Texarkana, TX. That the management must be a joke, The service and quality of the food is not great either. If you drive through the drive in you will not get what you paid for and you will find things in your food that is not supposed to be there like used rubber gloves soaked with sweat. TOTALY DISGUSTING!!! I do not know who owns this place but I can tell you they will never get any more of my business. As for the workers they are kids who do not realy care if they have a job, by the way they act. Who ever owns this place needs to realy look at there managers who are running this restaurant in to the ground.

I've been working at Taco bueno "I35/loop820" for 13 months now. I can tell you that on an average day I will cook 250+ lbs of taco meat and am permitted no mistakes whilst preparing any materials (otherwise it shows). Also we go through about 180 pounds of beans. Regardless of circumstances Guacamole, pico, queso, and chilli are prepared fresh three times a day as they only keep for 4 hours. Salsa is discarded at closing and then made fresh at 5am. (18 gallons)
We also make routine food temperature checks every hour, If it doesn't read over 150 degrees
Fahrenheit then it's gone. also everyone is encouraged to change their vinyl gloves religiously.
As for what it's like working there. The pace is truly overwhelming. The only unruly patrons stem from Arlington. (I'm not kidding. If you live in Arlington then stay away from East side Fort Worth, we don't want your spotty business or your snide, elitist attitudes.)
**(I mean seriously, do you guys always make fun of poor people or are you really that naive!)

And now for a few trade secrets. If you ever get any beef product that includes orange meat then you need to send it back. ( When meat has finished cooking we add one quart of tomatoes as a final catalyst. If you are lazy and don't wait for the beef to finish cooking before adding tomatoes, then the meat comes out orange. It should be gray with little bits of red.)
Bean burrito's are always available whether it's 6am opening or 2 am closing.
At 10 am the first batch of taco meat is ready while breakfast is still being served for another 30 minutes. Hence between 10 and 10:30 am is when you can order lunch and breakfast.

I like it at Taco Bueno! I dare anybody that looks at this comment to name AT LEAST 3 items taco bell makes on location without powder mixes or microwaves. though it's not as much as a powerhouse up in nebraska as it is in the south, it's very decent food. Apparently to some, Bueno tacos and burritos are bad. Maybe i'll go have some e-coli at taco bell, after all, the rats sure do like taco bell.

I also moved to Tampa from Oklahoma 2 years ago. One of the first questions I asked upon arrival was, "Where is the nearest Bueno?" I don't understand why people actually think Taco Bell is good!! I have Bueno withdrawals after I leave Tulsa. I also love Taco Mayo, which many may disagree with but it's even better than Bueno.

We just had one open up in upper South Carolina...I would not feed this to my worst enemy, lol. It's awful, the only thing that it has going for it is that it carries coke products, because I hate pepsi products. The plain tacos not only have more fat than plain Taco Bell tacos, but the meat of the plain ones is dry and flavorless, with those scant skinny cheese pieces on top. I ordered a #1 to try the place out. The burrito item that came with it was ten times worse than the taco. The taco was at least edible, the burrito was mass of little more than oodles of meat that just didn't agree with my tastes. Sorry, but I'm not heading back there again. Taco Bell may not be as "authentic" in appearance, but hell at least it has less fat per taco. It's a taco, how badly could you screw up meat, cheese, and lettuce? Though I think this is one of those instances in which you become attached to a type of food, Taco Bell having a different flavor to its food; I've always eaten that, so Bueno just didn't taste as good to me. I'm sure original Bueno lovers have an issue with Taco Bell too.

I moved to Tampa, Florida and they have no Taco Bueno. After two months of agony without the ALMIGHTY BUENO I moved back to Oklahoma.

They still prep their food in-store unlike Taco Hell. The quality is two stars above "The Bell." Still, is your hunger worth this? For not much more you can pig out in a real TexMex place. Don't waste your money here.

I have moved to South Carolina, and have so wanted a Taco Bueno here. I miss their food. The Crunchy Potatoe burrito is so much better than what Taco Bell has come up with. And their Chicken Nacho Salads are the best. They need to expand teir chain.

Like most reviewers have said, this is mainly a regional chain located in Texas,Oklahoma etc. What I like is you can actually order an item in a dinner where you get beans, rice, even chips and salsa. Makes it seem less like a fast-food place and more like a regular restaurant. The tacos are excellent, and they are very generous with the toppings.

I agree with beckyncats. I, too, recently moved to Florida from Oklahoma. The only thing here is Taco Bell, and we all know how awful that is. Taco Bueno is desperately needed in Florida, the Tampa area would be nice. I know I would frequent it and it would be a big hit here, where people think Taco Bell is acutally good. What do you say, Bueno? Want to expand to the Florida market and show people what Mexican fast food is really all about?

I unfortunately have only had the opportunity to visit Taco Bueno twice, but would LOVE for one to pop up a little closer to me. I have to travel 2 hours to get to the nearest one. If there was one here, I'd quit going to stupid Taco Bell!

I have moved to Florida where there are NO Taco Bueno's. Every time I visit OK I head to the nearest Taco Beuno when I get off the plane. I wish they would expand and move into the FL market!!!

I was a non-Mexican Fast Food person until I visited with my daughter on a college info night in Richardson, TX. I reluctantly had one and then another and a third before I left. The kids were going back for more, too. That was in 1989. Since then, I have been addicted to Taco Bueno. Most of the locations were some other fast food company's leftovers. That was a bummer. Now, they are taking on a fresh look even in the old stores. I used to stay connected hoping they would open one in Henderson, Texas. I wish it would happen soon.

GREATEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT FOR THE MONEY! I live in Austin and miss it so much. All we have is Taco Hell which isn't anything compared to Taco Bueno. The closest Taco Bueno to me is in Waco which is 100 miles away. I'm planning a road trip just so I can eat there. Please build one in austin, please!

We have one about 20 miles from us, and we would go there every day if we could. Delicious, authetic mexican food at a nice price.

I think Taco Bueno fast food chains are mostly in the South but I thought worth mentioning because I have always enjoyed it more than Taco Bell.
