It's a great sports. Slowpitch is very competitive at the adult level but I believe it's a version of the sports suited more for the recreation aspect. Fastpitch on the other side is better suited for competitive people as it requires even more skills to compete at. To improve your softball skills, you can visit my softball tips page.

Having 3 daughters who have played 4 years each, I'm a virtual expert on the technique of bunting. Bunting every friggin' batter is a good way to assure yourself (Coach) that your players will not be able to hit anything during sectionals. Let the girls hit away, please. I really don't remember how cold the springtime in upstate New York was from my playing days. In this geographic locale, watching softball entails an overcoat, gloves, hat and many layers of clothing. Whaddya mean I'm getting old?

Should high schools play fastpitch or slow? Ours was fastpitch and it was completely different for me to learn than my 8 years prior of playing softball.
