The hardest sport in High School. It is up to you to make a certain weight. You go up against an opponent of the same weight and you have no one to help you. You can not blame anyone else if you loose. It is both a team sport and an individual sport. If you can be successful at wrestling you can be successful in life (not to mention in the best shape of your life).

Although I was never a wrestler in high school (I had other priorities, you know) I have a lot of respect for these kids. To go out there and get turned into a pretzel in front of your friends and family as a teenager takes a lot of balls. Its typically the popular/insecure guy who doesn't take those defeats well, whereas the unpopular guy is motivated to work harder or maybe he just laughs it off. To do anything as an individual in high school out of many people's comfort zones and these little twerps are better for it.

I love to wrestle. To truly understand this sport you have to get beyond the spandex and sweat and relize that this sport is a one on one struggle against someone your own size. Think about it this is one of the hardest sports in high school. You can seriously get hurt and there is nothing better than wiping your oppoents ass.

College wrestling is almost non existant. Real wrestling, not the hokey sports entertainment crap, thrives the best in the United States high schools across the country.
