GOOD GIRL...

sanchez-vicario was a nice player. especially she hat this big big fighting spirit. yes, she won sometimes against the legends. but never when they were at their best. she had a nice backhand, but her forehand was very often a big weakness. i rember her as one of the biggest fighters in history. she was good but never belonged to the greatest of all time.

Having played the likes of Evert, Navratilova, Seles, Graf, Hingis and the Williams sisters and having wins over all of them, how can you not say that she was the grittiest player ever. Determination, patience, persistence and will carried her to many matches. She filled the playing void when Seles was out and provided memorable matches.

A tenacious battler. Spirit and determination made her one of the toughest competitors in the history of the game.

Not the most talented of players on this list,and she never dominated the women's game like,say,Navratilova or Graf,but no player ever had a bigger heart or fought more tenaciously against the odds of more powerful opponents.I've always had tremendous respect for her,and give her 4 stars for her spirit.A little diamond of the court.

Arantxa is a very underrated player. She has acheived a LOT, yet people don't recognize it. She has over 700 wins, 13 grand slam titles, numerous doubles titles, held the #1 ranking in both singles and doubles. She's a player who is known for never giving up and fighting until the last ball has been struck. BUT, being known for results isn't bad either. KEEP FIGHTING ARANTXA!! :)
