It really depends on who you are talking to. On the other hand, out in public, walking around, its usually men I see blathering away on cell phones! And its not a 30 second call, these guys go on and on.....

I don't know... There are times when only a long phone call will do the job.
LastMessenger3 04/09/2007
Not necessarily...depends who's on the other line!
Vudija 02/27/2007
I don't really like talking on the phone, save for with a few people, so a lot of my conversations last about this long as well.

"Hey Holmes! Dont forget! Beer bust tommarow night, and dont forget the chips! I know dude! You dont have to get so hostile!"

Unless you're talking to your girlfriend, right Hatter? @ Hatter: You'd better not mister! ;)

If that long. Example of a call between myself and Numbah. Hatter: What's up, dude? Numbah: Hey, we're all meeting at (fill in location) at 7. Hatter: All, right. I'll be there. That's it. That's a typical phone call between numbah and myself. REFER TO BLUE ORCHID'S COMMENT: Those calls last about ..... an hour and half. Not that I'm complaining ;)

Unfortunately this ONLY applies if you're talking to another guy. Otherwise it'd work out great.

That is good and I like that, but this also happens because men aren't as good at expressing themselves as women are therefore they don't have as intimate relationships with their friends. So I suppose at the end of the day, there is also a part of me which doesn't always see this as something great about being a guy.

Sorry, but I hate talking on the phone. Much prefer email or text.
souljunkie 07/13/2005
If that long...and to take it one step further, we men make calls only to accomplish somehting. It doesnt matter where I go or what Im doing, as soon as I leave the house my wife will call for nothing at all. She will ask if Im taking a certain route to where Im going, or if I did something at the house, things that should be said at any other more reasonable time...uggh!! Only becasue she knows I have the phone with me and has to call for something. Whats up with that!!

Thirty seconds! Who uses the phone for that long?
abichara 01/10/2004
I'm not a big phone guy. If I'm talking with a friend, then the call will last 30 seconds; short, straight, and to the point. However if it's with a girl, I will probably take longer. Women just like to talk more...

Seriously, long phone calls with women are the most DRAINING thing on the planet. It makes me want to just throw up and die.

Phone is ringing, phone is still ringing, phone is still ringing. Somebody shouts out will someone get that?, phone stops ringing. Next time phone rings a few times, someone else gets the phone(most cases it's not for me) Next time, phone rings I get annoyed with it ringing so I jump up and answer it(it's not for me so I go get who it's for) If it's for me, Hello Person on other end What are you doing? Me: Talking to you? Other person: Oh you want to go see Cat in the Hat or(Fill in movie) at 2:30? Me: Sure Other person: Ok, Mom says we'll be there(names time) Me: Ok then I hang up. So phone calls for females can last 30 seconds, I'd rather talk to them in person or I'd rather email them lol.
ClassicTVFan47 12/07/2003
I've never had a phone call go that short!

My favorite game: comparing phone bills between me and my girlfriend. If it can't be said in 60 seconds, then it is important enough to BE WITH THE PERSON.
forgotten hero 11/14/2003
In my experiences this is only true if both people are male. If a female is on the other end then they like to talk about anything and everything under the stars.
Enkidu 11/05/2003
I'm a total phonophobe, and there's nothing better than the 30-second phone call... yet I can linger all evening with friends and a pitcher of beer.
kolby1973 11/05/2003
I have to admit that I absolutely hate talking on the phone for more than a minute at a time, especially at work. And I love it even more if my friends hate talking on the phone...
kamylienne 11/04/2003
Hey, Eric, what's up? . . . . wanna hang out? . . . where do you wanna meet up? . . . alright, see you in 30, later. No awkward moments of silence, it's all nice and to-the-point. I hate talking on the phone, so having male friends who don't do long converastions on the phone is really nice.
