A really bad car mechanic will lie to you, no matter who you are.

It all depends on what car mechanic you go to and I also think it depends on the culture of a particular place. Because as women are becoming more accepted and coming in more male roles, this problem is become less apparent. But one thing though, it all depends on how you act. If a woman (and some do) act stupid, like the bimbo, and as if they don't know anything, then these women are the ones they tend to take advantage of. Unfortunately, there are some women who put on the dumb act because they think it will make the mechanic feel sorry for them then they will get free stuff. But it usually backfires! Anyway once they see that a woman has authority and knows a thing or two, they do not treat her any differently.

I dunno I think it depends. I think if a suit comes along needing car repair, they are going to assume he's ignorant about cars and try to rip him off. With a woman, they might try to get one over on them, until she starts acting like she knows a bit about cars.

Yes, mechanics will tell you the truth if you're a guy. They know that when you ask what the solution was for the rough idle, and they say just crap in the carburetor they understand that you know it was a removal process, not an act that was performed.

Don't nees to worry about that. I usually handle all my car problems.
