 | irishgit (138) 05/14/2008 | You think I'd be as abrasive as I can be on here if I didn't believe in myself?

 | cyclee (18) 05/13/2008 | This may make me sound conceited. But yes. If we can't even believe in ourselves, then who else can we believe in? God? Hmm.... no.

 | lmorovan (12) 04/18/2008 | Placing self above others is selfish and deceptive. It usually backfires.

 | Molfan (57) 03/26/2008 | Not quite a three. I wish I had better self esteem and believing more in myself. I do a bit. but as the years have gone on I think my self belief has been chipped away. for many reasons, overly critical parents, just life experiences and not feeling like I am living up to what I wish I could. maybe I am a pessimist., always wished I could have better self assurance. not too much because than you just come off as arrogant.

 | X Factor Z (13) 03/25/2008 | I probaly should try to better myself in some areas of my life to be almost certain of myself. Overconfidence can be deadly or foolish.

 | Donovan (130) 03/24/2008 | I believe in me, but do you believe in me? You are reading this but how do you know if it's really from me? You believe in me because you choose to believe in me. Others can tell you that I exist but you can still not believe in me. Others can tell you that they have experienced being in my presence, but you can doubt them. Books can be written about me but you still doubt. I can offer you all the love there is to offer but you can reject it. I can show you things I have made with my hands, but you still doubt. Why are you so distrustful? How can you hate me but never talk to me or even believe in me? Even though you don't believe in me, you blame me for all the bad things in your life including the bad you've created. How can life exist unless it starts as life?
((Does this sound like someone else you may have heard about?))

 | ILikePie (49) 03/24/2008 | Descartes said it... "I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am." So I believe in myself in some form or another.

 | CastleBee (81) 11/28/2006 | I try to keep my ego on low burn and usually have no trouble doing that since the circumstances of life tend to give me plenty of help. Then again there are times when I feel that I'm a figment of my own imagination.

 | Vudija (92) 11/27/2006 | Messenger took the words right out of my mouth. I believe it impossible for others to believe in you if you can't find it within yourself (as Messenger said).

 | LastMessenger3 (40) 11/27/2006 | They say for people to respect you, you have to respect yourself, for people to love you, you have to love yourself, for people to believe in you, you have to believe in yourself. A simple rule I live by.

 | traderboy (25) 01/30/2006 | I most certainly do, and with a fair degree of confidence. I'm not always right (nor do I expect to be), but at least after an honest goof, I can go back for evaluation and try to make the adjustments necessary to keep from repeating mistakes. If I weren't able to "square" MYSELF in a given environment, then I'd be a pretty poor dispenser of anything to others. I've found that believing in myself is the best way to maintain a realistic outlook on life; I see too many people counting on others to come through for them, only to have their hopes dashed when they didn't live up to admittedly-imagined "standards". For me, most of the fun is in the discovery, the contiguous thrill of not knowing how far I might go in relation to what I've previously picked up. The day I stop learning and the day I stop breathing had better be one and the same.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 07/02/2005 | Absolutely. My parents told me if I put my heart, belief, and passion to what I'm doing, then I could be anything that I wanted to be. Therefore, I did it!

 | OrangeCharlie (5) 01/09/2004 | Without 100% belief in yourself, you will not be able to fully believe in anyone else. You need to believe in yourself even when everyone else doesn't. Trust me.

 | Aurielle (18) 01/05/2004 | I've found in life that sometimes, I'm the only one I really can count on. Sometimes it's good to be your own best friend -- you never disappoint yourself, insult yourself, hurt your own feelings. So I have to say, yes, I believe in myself. . .but at the same time, I have the doubts about myself that all humans have. No one is perfect, especially not me. I just try to live day to day and learn more about myself as time goes on.
