This was indeed unjust, but remember that the academy is a nest of tit-sucking leftos. Hitch did not fit into that category. Therefore, the big Blackball. The left uses film as its weapon since the left dominates it.

The Academy may be slightly more reliable with the Best Director category than with the Best Picture, but it's still a joke. Hitchock was nominated five times for Best Director, and not even for his best films. His directing style was comic, sexy, scary, and unpretentious. For him not to win is a real indictment of the organization.

Categorically, there is no use of visuals today, from TV commercials to movies, that is not indebted to the full potential of emotional manipulation of audiences, good or bad, that Hitchcock revealed to all who followed.

Few Directors had the talent & style that Hitchcock showed.

with his body of work you would have figured he could have won at least once. seems to be respected much more now than when he was alive.

Alfred Hitchcock was one of those directors that many directors look to today for inspiration, ideas, guidance and just to tell a good story. I'm not saying he should have been nominated for every film. Take North by Northwest, a great suspense and adventure with Cary Grant about an innocent man accused of something he didn't do. Great storytelling, superb acting, and some amazing camera work. Notorious, and Strangers on a Train are two other brilliant, edgy, tightly wound Hitchcock thrillers. There will only be one Alfred Hitchcock.

It is amazing that he did not win an academy award for one of his movies or even more than one. the man had a talent for directing some of the most classic suspence movies. ever. Other directors must admire him since so many have used his ideas.the only academy award he got was a lifetime acheivement one. his only speech was thankyou and he walked off the stage.the academy can be snobs anyway and they are famous for snubbing certain directors and actors anyway.
