He should be Darkwing Duck.

This ill-tempered, unintelligent mallard is the only Disney character I've ever liked.

Best Disney character. Donald vs. the bees or battling Chip and Dale were very funny.

Strangely enough, I thought the legendary moment for him was his piano duel with Daffy Duck in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" The cannon shot was a nice touch, dude..

Donald is a good Disney character, he is one of my favorites. Donald has a very short temper it does not take much to set him off.
PixarFan2007 05/20/2007
Donald Duck was one of the best "original" Disney characters. He often lost his temper when things did not go his way.

What's the deal with his nephews? Whatever happened to their parents? Are they dead? Are they unable to take care of them? Why were they left in the care of an unstable unmarried uncle? I guess Disney didn't want us to think about these things. They surely didn't want us to think that these three ducklings were the result of a Donald Duck sexual encounter, which is strange considering he walks around in public with no pants on.

could never understand what the hell he was saying
HistoryFan 11/01/2005
So what if I can't understand half of what he's saying? The most important part is that he's funny...and he is.

Donald is great, I love to watch him throw a fit. He is the only Disney character that seems real. And I love his voice.

another quanky duck. donald just seemed to be followed by a dark cloud and he was onery but daisy loves him
Skizero 02/09/2005
the only tolerable Disney character in my opinion. Donald has attitude and doesn't fall along the same sort of vanilla lines as other Disney cartoon seem to. he has an edge, albeit a disneyfied rounded edge. but i like him. i like when Donald gets manic and sounds as though he is cursing. that's humor to me. also his affection for the nephews doesnt seem to be as contrived at other Disney attempts at making characters bond.

Can't understand this poor guy but he always sounds like he's cussing a blue streak. Knowing Disney, I'm sure that's not the case. He's cute though and a classic whose frustration you can sometimes identify with more than you would like.
Mad Hatter 01/08/2005
He has an extremly short fuse.

Too grumpy for me!!!!!.....

Donald is the icon for temperamental folks everywhere; but you've just got to love him and feel sorry for him. How would YOU react if you were in the type of dilemmas he was always in -- some of them involving his mischievous nephews? Contrast him with Mickey, who always seems so cheerful and calm (not that Mickey is a bad character).

I think I love Donald Duck so much because my husband can do a great DD imitation. He can have whole conversations in Duckese. This is his preferred method of dealing with telemarketers, too. At least they'll have a story to tell.

Like the guy, but he really needs to do something about his temper. Does anyone know what he says?

Never could understand what he was saying

He reminds me of my friends in some ways, because you can't make out a word she says!

People who think cartoon characters have to be sweet and nice just do not get it. Disney's cartoon characters are less mature and complex than those of Warner Brothers (eg Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck), but Donald Duck is an exception. We all may dislike his temper, but we tolerate and love him anyway because of his crazy schemes that remind us of someone we know (perhaps that odd uncle or even ourselves). Moreover, there just seems to be something about ducks that captures the human imagination.

Needs to lighten up... always reminded me of my crazy next door neightbor who used to shoot any animal that entered his yard.

Mickey and DONALD will always be in my heart.

Vintage Disney is great and Donald Duck is my favorite Disney character. I especially love his very early cartoons (from about 1934-39). He had a different look then. His beak was longer and he looked more like a duck. He was also a more likeable character then, who did more than just get mad all the time. Examples of some of these great early cartoons are "The Dog Knapper," "The Band Concert," "Mickey's Fire Brigade," and "Mickey's Service Station" to name a few. Great cartoons!

I like Donald because out of most of the Disney characters, he actually gets angry. Disney films are too good natured and Donald's almost the opposite of it all. I'm glad they made a character who doesn't do all that happy crap.

I like Donald Duck because he comes across as human: he's emotional; he shows anger, frustration, etc. He is a down-to-earth character who doesn't try to be anybody other than himself. He's a great complement to Mickey's tolerant, accepting persona. In most animated features, Donald seems to steal the show. He's greedy; he's a glutton; he's selfish. He's a side of me that I could never allow to flourish in public. Donald Duck ranks up there with Daffy and all the other cartoon misfits who have incredibly low frustration levels.

Don't get me wrong, the cartoons are funny. They are very well drawn and the plots are clever. The problem is, I can't understand a word the duck says. This cartoon would have been so much better if they had hired Mel Blanc to do the voice. I can understand Daffy but I just don't get Donald.
Molfan 07/06/2001
I like Donald the Duck with the bad temper.I liked watching the cartoons featuring Donald.all the bad luck he seemed to have and way he reacted to it.He was sort of the opposite of Mickey who was always good humored.Donald didnot handle his bad luck so well. I guess I could relate more to Donald. Through cartoons Donald gets to throw tantrums.
