The concept of sugar-free chocolate isn't too terribly offbeat when we consider that there may be diabetics and dieters (and those who simply want to cut back on sugar intake) out there who crave chocolate. Everyone deserves a chance to satisfy their "sweet tooth". I have actually tried some of it before. Much of it is indistinguishable in taste from their sugary counterparts.

I think the point of sugar-free chocolate, is so that people who can't eat sugar, can eat chocolate. man, that's deep.

So diabetics and those who have high blood sugar can enjoy a good piece of chocolate once in a while.

It is psychological. It is meant to make you eat that brand of chocolate without making you feel guilty, so you will buy more. There is no such thing as sugar free. The only reason why it is called sugar free is because they don't use that particular common type of sugar that they usually put into chocolate. But if it is sweet, chemically speaking, it is a sugar of some sort. So in actual fact, it is not sugar free. Maybe instead of saying sugar free, they should say, 'a differently type of sugar!' If they did that though, they wouldn't make as much money!

The point is that by using such things as nutrasweet and the other fake sweeteners is that it creates a whole other industry. That would be all kinds of medical problems from using that stuff. Do a little research on Nutrasweet. Not good.

In almost any situation, if I have the choice between immitation or nothing I'm going to opt for nothing. That includes anything from sugar to diamonds.

I imagine those with diabetes appreciate this candy. or others who do not want sugar for some reason. I am glad they have the choice of this kind of treat.
Creamy Goodness 11/11/2003
It's for people who like to eat chocolate and dog shit, and want the best of both worlds.
kolby1973 11/11/2003
The reason why this is created is usually because candy companies are trying to find a way to market their product to people who have diabetes, or people who are just trying to stay away from sugar...
irishgit 11/11/2003
I guess the market for this is the people that believe swigging a gallon of diet cola will burn off the eight slices of pizza and the bag of Cheetos they scarfed down.
