I agree with Donovan and Gentle Jude; they both made very good points in their comments.

I'm thinking... If they really had a sense of humour, they'd laugh at this bait.

I'm a Christian who happens to appreciate and enjoy good humor, even some cornball stuff. I believe that God has a sense of humor (to a degree, anyway), and that laughter is a gift from Him. Because of my beliefs, however, I have a place where I draw the line. I don't find X-rated comedy very funny at all.

Fundamentalists?. Are christians fundamentalists? No. Instead, they are the victims. Every christian is either bad or good. I'm not talking here about catholics. Catholics are not christains, than for them to be pagans. I'm talking here about the SDA, Mormons, Pentacostal, and many more. The Amish family.....(deadly consequences if they are attacked again).

I have known a lot of people that are Christian and they definitely have a sense of humor. But I think that people see us in a different light. The times when we are judged as not having a sense of humor is when we voice an opinion that may differ from the "educated intelectuals" who justify wrong thinking or wrong actions with their own weaknesses.I've lived long enough to know that people like to protect their way of thinking and their convictions.I have convictions that I stand by and live by,the only difference is that They tend to live by the convictions of the status quo because if enough people believe a certain way,it must be right.I am convinced that God's standard is much higher than mortal man's foolishness,so I try to model that which is good rather then grouping up with the status quo for the sake of strength in numbers.I have made a lot of serious mistakes in my life,I am not even close to perfect, but everyday is a battle to model the attitude that I know God expects of me,some days I'm not doing as well as other days, after all,I am human. If I was perfect I guess I wouldn't need God.But since I am human, everyday is a process to work hard at learning the true meaning of wisdom, and yes I fail miserably, but I am running a race with hope that God will reshape me(and everybody that claims Jesus as Lord) into a creation that honors God with their lives, not living a life of selfishness, but one of selflessness and one of genuine love for every living person that I come in contact with and hopefully I can make a difference around people with whom I share space with in this world by doing so.I hope my example will earn me the right to be heard through mutual respect.

When I read through all of these comments making fun of Christians it amazes me how wrong people can be. I believe I have a good sense of humor but I guess unless you laugh when you are being criticized then people think you do not.

Interestingly, they do; it just rarely actualizes itself outside of its tightly-knit, checked-and-balanced systems (where anything humorous has to be washed through x-amount of filters before the disciple deigns to hold it as a thought, let alone give it voice). A smothered quaintness results, which leaves most people either cold or indifferent to the form. Personally, I find the reciprocative smirk of acknowledgment to be neither niggardly nor beneath me when dealing with militant theist humor (more the pity when those paragons of civic consideration aren't reflected). Someone once said that "dying is easy; comedy is hard"; there's almost too many styles, combinations, and situations of "funny" to take into account, where different things strike different people different ways. The fundagelical simply chooses to retreat into an orchestrated niche that he or she feels comfortable within, and (like anything else) that's all well and good up to a point; it's when a specific style (ANY style) is called upon as a mandate for the masses that people take umbrage with (and rightly so). Humor is uniquely human; it can be jealously secreted and joyfully shared, and refuses to be pigeonholed. Celebrate it as often as you find it.

They most certainly do have a sense of humor. Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart and Pat Buchanan have been their biggest jokes to date. Don't turn that dial, folks...there's gonna be a lot more to come.

It's funny that some people call it not having a sense of humour if you don't like dirty jokes or laughing at people's misfortune. Well if that is what is defined as humour, I'm not laughing. Besides what does it make you if you kill a bird? A birderer, or haven't you heard the eleventh Commandment, you shall not birder lol. Hey maybe Irishgit wants us to tell him some jokes, well he certainly came to the right place. This is all his plot to make the Christians tell him some jokes! This is a question he could add to this list. If Irishgit wants some Christians to tell him some jokes, why doesn't he just ask them? LOL. Don't worry Irishgit, I'm only joking!

From a fundamentalist Christian: What do they call proctologists in Jamaica? Pokemon. ***** Confucius say: Man who run in front of car get tired. Man who run behind car get exhausted. ***** What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup? Anyone can roast beef. ***** A man rushed into the doctor's office and shouted, Doctor! I think I'm shrinking!! The doctor calmly responded, Now, settle down. You'll just have to be a little patient. ***** A thief broke into the local police station and stole all the toilets. A spokesperson was quoted as saying, We have absolutely nothing to go on. ***** A famous Viking explorer returned home from a voyage and found his name missing from the town register. His wife insisted on complaining to the local civic official who apologized profusely saying, I must have taken Leif off my census. ***** And finally, Why couldn't the bicycle stand on its own? It was just two tired.

A nun who worked in the health care field was on her way to see a patient when she ran out of gas. There was a gas station nearby but the attendant told her that the gas can had been loaned out. She walked back to her car and while searching through the trunk she found a bedpan. Being resouceful, she went back to the station and filled the bedpan with gas, knowing that it would be enough fuel for her to make it to the station for a fill up. As she was pouring the gas from the bedpan into the tank two men walked by. Seeing what she was doing one man said to the other Now that's what I call faith! Apparently one of the best kept secrets about fundamental Christians is that there is a large organization of Christian comics as well as jokes, pictures and funny sound bits. There are a number of web pages and one can find Christian jokes where much of the humor is based on ourselves and our all too human behavior. In addition, there are many professional Christian comics available for public and private functions. Those who feel that Christians are all tight lipped old ladies who scorn anything except the Bible have fallen prey to stereotypical fallacies and do an injustice to the men and women of faith who bring laughter to many. You do not have to be a Christian to understand and enjoy Christian humor, just as one doesn't have to be Jewish to enjoy the humor of Jackie Mason or the late Allen Sherman.

This is an easy one... humor requires an open mind, to consider events or situations that are outside the 'normal'. Fundamentalists (of any kind), by their very definition, have closed minds.

This reminds me a story Oral Roberts once told on the Larry King show. Oral dies and goes to heaven. An interested St Peter asks, Are you THE Oral Roberts? Oral nods and St Peter hustles him into the great room where God is sitting on his throne. Are you THE Oral Roberts? God asks. Oral nods in the affirmative and God is obviously thrilled to see him. I have this pain, God says pleadingly, rubbing his shoulder.

It's pretty tough not to laugh a lot when you think that half of the world is going straight to hell and you feel the burden of having to save them all. Even worse is when you think that the entire world is against you and your beliefs. UPDATE: I'm not one to notice the unhelpfuls a lot or even care about it, but someone is obviously touchy about this subject. I'm a proud Christian, but some of you need to get a sense of humor. You don't reach anyone by being uptight.

It's a lose-lose situation for them. They are under 24/7/365 surveillance by an omnipotent god who will at the time of their death deciede if they will spend eternity in Hell as the Devil's bitch or spending an eternity in Heaven as God's bitch. If that were my outlook on life I would be pretty humorless too.

It's hard to find humor in this sinful world when you are convinced you are a bastion of righteous knowledge, surrounded by hellward-bound wrongdoers.

They do have a sense of humor. They sit at home and giggle their asses off just contemplating the tortures that await the infidels (ie: everyone else) in hell. Nothing is more satisfying or amusing to them than the thought of muslims, jews, liberals, homos, feminists, yankees, democrats, hollywood actors, foreigners, the jerk who cut them off on the way to work, college professors, nonwhites, anyone with a science degree, secular humanists, Hillary Clinton, mormons, and medicinal marijuana advocates roasting in hell for all eternity.

They do! Haven't you ever heard of Jerry Clower? Or Grady Nutt? Anyway, here are some other good questions: why do drive-up ATM machines have braille on their key pads? Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? And finally....why don't fortune tellers and crystal ball readers ever win the lottery??? Hmmmmm?!
