America dismisses science when it tells us inconvenient facts. Celebrating science is celebrating a process of discovery that shatters and modifies our preconceived notions and ideas. . .we just like being comfortable too much.

This would be a great national holiday. Let' have it on the Monday after Day Light Savings starts so we can sleep in.

A day celebrating the scientists and inventors that changed our lives would be an honorable one.

This one is pretty good. With few exceptions, I feel that the world would be a lot worse off without the bright, dedicated people who fall into this category. Yes, I think honoring the major accomplishments of science is a valid reason for a celebration of some kind.

we need a national holiday to honor great inventors such as the wright brothers, alexander graham bell, and thomas edison. they invented things that are now esential to our modern culture. don't they deserve a national holiday to honor them? we also need to honor great scientists such as einstein, carl sagan, jacques cousteau, and even the astronauts who landed on the moon.
