Let's not pretend that we really care about stone-age tribes that our ancestors wiped off the face of the earth in a cold-yet-efficient post-Enlightenment era of intellectual compartmentalization. A day late and a dollar short for feeling guilty. . .

Too generic. How about a Mangas Colorado day, where you can loot, pillage and murder your neighbors?

They deserve a lot more,but it's a start.

Sure. It won't make up for our ancestors murdering over 98% of their ancestors, but it would at least show some attempt at recognizing their contributions. They helped fight our wars, and gave us all their land (unwillingly of course), so we can at least celebrate them as being a distinct culture within our larger American society.
