That would be racist to celebrate the white race! If you are not a minority you are not allowed to celebrate. How dare anyone suggest such a thing???

There is no 'white' American day? Until a brother gets elected, it's called "president's day" (Silver medal awarded to "St. Patrick's Day"). . .and the terrible festival dancing involving palefaces alone ruins this idea.

California and South Dakota celebrate Native American Day. Many areas and maybe some states celebrate Dia La Raza. There is an African-American day celebrated. We have postage stamps for Chinese New Year and Kwanzaa. Maybe it's time for the white folks.

When your kid asks on Fathers' Day "Daddy, why is there no Kids Day?" every father in the world offers the exact same answer, "Becuase every day is Kids day." The same answer would apply to White American Day.

I don't think there should be any recognition to any one race. Everybody was created equal by God, and no one is superior over another.

Also pretty dumb. Lets celebrate intolerance!

Just dumb. Though I'm somewhat hesitant to support any specific holiday based primarily on race alone there is a substative argument to be made for specific accolades of minorities who've historical persevered through institutionalized racism. What purpose would a white holiday serve beyond a call for the KKK crowd to drink gallons of moonshine and crash their pickups in to trees?

seems kind of pointless and a day like this would probably encourage the white supremacists to spread more of their hate and venom. it would seem to justify their existence, at least in their opinion.

Why not?! There is Black History Month, Women's History Month, and Confederate History Month, it won't hurt to have one day.

It seems to me that EVERY day is White American day. I don't need a holiday recognizing my racial ancestry. I don't see white children growing up wishing they were black or hispanic or asian because of the sweet deal those minorities get, so why antagonize race relations even more by celebrating 'white' accomplishments?

I'm with Castlebee on this one. I don't believe any race or nationality should have their own holiday, whether white, black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, or whatever. There's already too much arguing about which group had it the toughest. Also, there is no such thing as a superior or inferior race. Creating such holidays would only make matters worse. We were all created equal. So... let's try to get along with one another, putting all our differences (physical or otherwise) aside. It isn't too much to ask, is it?!

I don't see any point in having any days set aside to honor people simply for being born into a particular segment of humanity. I think it would be healthier to start concentrating on what makes us similar instead of different. These kinds of holidays inevitably end up turning into some kind of undeclared ranking contest and a counter productive waste of time.
