It's a bad Idea, I am Jewish and we already get holidays off. It would just cause conflict.

Though I am not Jewish I think having a holiday such as Jewish American Day would be a great idea and I also wish Shavout was a more well known holiday also.

Great idea. We could call it Yom Kippur, or Rosh Hashannah, or Hannukah. Jewish people are hardly disenfranchised in this country, and their contributions to western culture are already celebrated, so observing a Jewish American day would be like celebrating a White People day. It isn't necessary.
