You average citizens think they drive you crazy, you should try working for the sonsabitches like I have. Being a political aide is as close to Purgatory as this lapsed Catholic plans to get.

The problem with real life politicians is that they're never as smart or as charismatic or as thoughtful about the common person as they are portrayed in movies or television where our expectations are delivered in a neat package via sitcom or movie when they're having to deal with earth shattering kabooms.
I'm inclined to believe that the modern day politician is a throw-back to the belief that certain leaders were ordained by some higher power to sit upon their elevated thrones, preening. We're allowing ourselves to be convinced by the masses that we live in democratic/free systems and that we have a say in how we are being governed when we're serfs and still paying tithes to the overlords and monarchs who owe their positions to the nepotism and heredity in absence of merit.
The choices that are given to us are few and the differences between them are little, and yet we toil for land that we don't quite own, and fight for freedoms that are eroded, under the burden of a complicated system of taxes in which those that work are forced to cary the burden of those who can but won't due to some sense of entitlement.
The political rhetoric is killing me. If we can't have a bit of straight talking and truth, could we at least have them not talk to us as though we're stupid?

I think they deliberately drive us nuts on purpose for some reason.

At this point I've kinda adapted to the idea that they are all f*** ups and I'm making my official outlook the idea that the less I expect, the less disappointed I'll be.

Sometimes. But I get real crazy over the voters and apoligists who still keep coming back for more abuse.

Well, at least there is one poll that politicians do extremely well in (i.e., one like this, where you vote for who's the worst type of preson you can think of). Admittedly, there are some politicians who still at least try to represent their constituents, but by and large, politicians, lawyers (not mutually exclusive by any means), and used car salesmen top the list of suspect professions. There's gotta be a reason (or more than one) for this perception. Lack of morals and morality, self-aggrandizing, self-centered, sanctimonious, weasly, untrustworthy, vacillating, hypcritical, opportunistic, devious - too bad I don't have time to write down what I really think!

For basic stupidity, arrogance, dishonesty and violation of all common sense and decency, politicians win every one of these five stars hands down.
