Greed isn't the problem. Greed (if controlled by a strong personality) leads to some positive things- greed for knowledge, experience, et.al.If the owners could emulate the revenue sharing system of the NFL they would see some (not all) of their issues go away. . .I don't see it as an issue of 'greed' but of recalcitrance and plain old stubborn attitudes. . .

This is a problem for bad teams. Not probably the way most people think of it, however, but you can't tell me that all of the owners in the league don't have the money to spend to make a good team. Now sure every team doesn't have Yankee money, but they have enough. Also, I am not saying that spending money is the only way to win, but for some teams, it would have to have a little talent.

Take George Steinbrenner out and put one in his ear. Greedy owners have been a baseball plague since the onset of pro ball.

George is ruining a sport... I hate him

They are all greedy and overpaid - players and owners.

Steinbrenner is why this wins, you look at baseball now as buying championships compared to 20 years ago when you would acctually earn one

Owners have every right to expect to and try to make a profit. Fans want their owner in small markets to lose millions of dollars for a world series. If fans were asked to give up a proportional amount of their income to support a winning program they'd see things a little differently. Some owners though are despicable in how they run their team and cut costs while taking in tons of cash themselves.
