This place is just awful. I flew in to SFO one time in early August and popped over to the 'Stick to watch the game at 7:05. I began to be concerned when people started filing in looking like they were headed for a December game at Soldier Field. I had a wool blazer, and I never was so cold. I think the temp. fell into the forties with a wind! I have been to several games at Candlestick, and one was for 12 innings. I did not win the coveted Croix de Candlestick (awarded to survivors of Giants night extra innings games when the Giants win) as it was a day game! The wind blew about sixty miles an hour and howled through the hallways of the stadium!

I'm sure I've been to at least 200 games there. The fog comes pouring from off the candlestick point hill with the wind picking up to 25 mph. It will be low 50s or hign 40s. Wrappers swirl. "Can of corn" pop-ups become high drama. We who loved baseball enough to deal with this, made being a Giants fan special. Most years we sucked. Willie Mays, and Willie Mac would have had more home runs if they played at the Embarcadero like todays Giants. Bonds may have had a few more.

An ice-cold palace. Bring your parka. To July day games.

whatever name you have for it, it's still a godforsaken rathole.
