11/11/2005 | i was gonna give Uk a 4, then i was reminded of all the crappy metal bands from UK, so 2 it is, the only reason it isnt one is maiden, im not saying theyre the only good band from britain, but their the only one who stands high enough above the crap....

11/05/2005 | I'm not well versed on the current UK metal scene but like everybody else here, I agree - Britian is the cradle of all metal. Sabbath alone would win them this title much less Priest or Zeppelin.
Plus there was a movie I saw called "More Bad News" about a fictional British metal band that was unbelievably funny.

09/02/2004 | Birthplace of Grindcore. Napalm Death, Carcass, Bolt Thrower, Cradle of Filth, Benediction, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath (proto-metal), and countless other awesome bands. The Earache label is responsible for bringing most of these bands to the attention of metal fans worldwide. All of these bands seem to come from the industrial north of England, and several are from Birmingham. The UK has always produced quality bands of all genres, and metal is no exception.
