Spike was a truly inspired character. When he was soulless and dangerous, he was hilarious, impatient, impetuous, and so very witty, and with Dru, he somehow became a character we could simultaneously fear and laugh at. When he was soulless and impotent, he was hilariously petulant, and as he found ways around his impotence and found a new purpose in life/death, we gained a new respect for him. After he got a soul, he was truly pitiable and aww-worthy. And throughout it all, he was Spike. Truly a work of genius. (And he wasn't bad on the eyes, either. Unless you're judging by the picture on this page.)

Honestly Spike was always my favorite character. Equipped with a razor wit and constant sarcasm, he was easily one of the the best on the show. Plus how many men do you know, besides Billy Idol, can pull off peroxide blond hair?

always entertaining and good for a laugh, but his relationship with buffy was about as believable as michael jackson's with lisa marie presley.
