Corona is an incredibly disgusting beer but an amazing example of how people are suckers for marketing. It tastes exactly like another crappy corn-based beer, like MGD for example, but sells for almost twice as much at times. People think it's cool how it's like Mexican and stuff and you can put a lime in it. How about drinking a real beer instead? If you want to go Mexican, Negra Modelo and anything from Cucapa is way better.

Been enjoying Corona and a lime but always hated it when the lime would fall into the beer and not stay in the neck. The bitter rinds over power the beer towards the end of the beer making me want to jug the last few sips.So I invented this cool product I call HookaLime.Flavoring beer with a lime just got a whole lot easier with HookaLime.Without HookaLime, the lime falls into the beer, causing uneven flavors, especially towards the end where you taste more bitter rind flavors than beer. With HookaLime, the lime is wedged in the neck of the bottle, giving you a Refreshing Splash of Lime with every sip! Check us out at http://www.HookaLime.comEnjoy your beer with HookaLime...You're FIXIN' to taste the difference.HookaLime clips are being manufactured now, so please ask you retailers for a HookaLime when you order your Corona, thanks.Would appreciate comments from Corona lovers. Share it with your friends if you like the idea. I tend to drink this in the Summer. It's a light beer but much better than Bud, Bush, Coors Light all the watery light American beers. I do tend to get a skunky bottle now and then because they use clear bottles.
FranksWildYear s 07/27/2009
It's not a bad beer, but there is nothing exceptional about it, unless you count the price they charge for it in bars, where it's primary purpose is as a light refreshing summer-time panty remover. Guys will pay anything for an effective panty remover.
PCPeter774 07/27/2009
Tastes like skunky piss. Even in the realm of mexican beers this is overpriced bottom of the barrel crap.

Props to the marketing department. Everyone knows the name of Carona, in English, "crown", to be "the" Mexican beer. If you have never been to Mexico, just so you know, Corona is a low level beer. Real beer lovers of Mexico would never choose Carona as a great Mexican beer. On my last visit to Mexico, our tour guide saw me drinking a bottle of Victoria and was excited to see me drinking a "real" beer not the garbage that is imported to the USA (ie: Carona). He even suggested to me to try Nocha Buena if I wanted a really good, yet seasonal brew. I really like Barilito for a refreshing yet "meaty" brew with a real beer flavor with some life, and I believe Barilito is a product of the same company that brews and imports Carona. If nothing else is available and I want to re-live my latest trip to the Yucatan during the midst of winter in Iowa, I will accept a Carona as the last resort.Carona is an "ok" beer, but it has a flavor that no other beer has. To consider Carona a Mexican beer is a little misleading since there are so many other Mexican brews that taste and finish nothing like Carona.

This beer is OK, well worth the 3 stars. I drink this when nothing else is available. The flavor is very different after the bottle has been open for 10-15 minutes, as it gets warm the taste loses good flavor and it starts tasting bad. I honestly do not know why this is the most popular Mexican beer in the world, it certainly isn't the best Mexican beer. If you want the best in Mexican beer try Victoria or my all time favorite beer in the world, PACIFICO. Honest unbiased opinion.
defson 05/12/2009
There is a reason why they call it a tourist beer. This beer is the most delicious beer out there when its ice cold, but once it starts to warm it loses flavor and a bad oder is released. So grab a bucket of ice and freeze those Coronas!
brewclub 04/22/2009
For the price, get yourself some Pacifico. If you have to add lime to make a beer tasty, you should reconsider your beer!
Spike65 10/22/2008
A good choice for people who don't like the taste of beer. Great advertizing campaign though. Might be better if you could get it before the "skunk" pays a visit.
beauMAN! 07/24/2008
Pinches gringos. Even the Mexicans Don't drink this shit

Great job of marketing in U.S.
irishgit 06/22/2007
This is a pretty lousy beer. And I'm not saying that in comparison to the big U.S. macro-brewed products like Bud, etc. which are pretty much swill. I'm comparing it to good Mexican beers. Don't get me started on comparing it, or any of that big brewery cat urine to any of the the craft microbrews available throughout the country. If I start doing that, I'll write a longer review than those dog food guys.
IslaMota 06/22/2007
Please please! It is what it is with a lime. The beer has obviously Gained impressive growth in ALL markets worldwide and surpassed Heinekin as the largest US import. Get off the prejeduce bandwagon and rate this beer honestly( both the light and Extra). They obviously blow any Bud or Miller product away...why just yesterday I see AB has a new beer out that resembles the Corona bottle in clear glass and blue and yellow colors...Just like all the rest of Miller and Bud products it will fail due to the difference in brewing styles and poor quality of American beers...Hasta mi amigo.
CheckmateDD 06/20/2007
In Mexico, Corona is considered a tourist beer and so not recommended by Mexicans who consider you a friend. Besides, they know Americans have already had Corona at home. Personally, I find Corona quite pleasant; certainly, more so than any American beer. It is "light" in the sense that it does not leave you with a heavy feeling like, say, Bohemia beer does. Corona is heavily marketed in Mexico along with Sol beer. I see more billboards for it than virtually for any other Mexican product.
CastleBee 05/29/2007
I'm not a big beer fan in the first place but, these aren't bad. Especially with a slice of lime.
Charles Manning 05/29/2007
If you like drinking swamp water, this is the brew for you.
rasmmar 05/17/2007
I grew up in El Paso Texas. So we would buy Mexican beer because it was less expensive. It only took one Corona to know you would not let your dog drink it.We stayed with Tecate or Dos Equis.
Luke22 05/04/2007
This beer tastes like ass. Seriously, it has am oily quality that is just gross. Pacifico is about a million times better.
bbb123 04/30/2007
awesome
aaa123 04/30/2007
the best mexican beer
sfalconer 04/26/2007
If you ever wondered what Mexican goat piss would taste like I am pretty sure it would taste just like a Corona.
XAgent 04/11/2007
Fairly popular in my family.
Pfkad 03/09/2007
I don't understand the popularity of this beer at all. There are so many really excellent Mexican (and other Latin American) beers out there, it seems odd that this mediocre brew would be the one deemed cool.
mailburner 12/17/2006
the nicest mexican beer. love it. love sol too. we have very different tastes. very popular in ireland
msp2 12/08/2006
My favorite beer in the world love it on a night out!
daonionman 07/11/2005
Nice cheap beer, with some decent ads coming out as of late.
Randyman 03/20/2005
I don't drink that much anymore, but these aren't too bad.
magellan 03/03/2005
It's fashionable to hate on Coronas but i will happily drink these things all night. The Coronitas (7 ozers) are a nice touch. Not much to this beer, but good on on a hot day.
Mark@ beershop 01/07/2005
wishy, washy, namby, pamby.Really folks this sort of product gives beer a bad name.Sure if you eat super gm processed food from some multi-national and have no taste receptors give it a go.suprised it has not been supersized
NOVAK1 08/21/2004
fairly good some what on the bitter side
arete1952 08/17/2004
Should have kept it in the horse.
TriSec 08/12/2004
Severely overrated. Who said you need to drink it with lime anyway? Do you do that for any other beer?
CanadaSucks 08/09/2004
Sewer water falsely packaged as Mexican Beer The worst. If it needs a lime, how can it be a good beer?
DNell 07/26/2004
I know is an american beer kinda but its good.
jazzybee 07/15/2004
unless i get it with a lime i won't drink this crap.
OldSeaRock 07/02/2004
I live in Texas and we get this beer very fresh from the brewery in sealed 12 packs. An old bottle of Corona that has been exposed to the light can be horrible - but a fresh bottle with a slice of lime is sublime! Slightly sweet with a medium body (for Mexican beers - we ain't talking German lagers), this is the standard which I use to judge all other Mexican beers.
chrisk1177 03/17/2004
Swill.
