Typical of the low-end Mexican brews, but the one I like best among them. No, it isn't Negro Modello, but it's better than Corona which, for reasons unknown to me (advertising, maybe), Americans seem to think is great. Give me a break! Tecate is good, not great, and the price is right.

It was my first experience with Mexican beer and out of all beers and ive been around I have to give it 2nd place, with Dos Equis 1st, and bud and coors lt after. But Dos Equis is the smoothest beer ive ever tasted with more kick, it makes bud tast like Colt 45. I can say this for sure the mexicans surely know how to brew good beer.

If this beer isn't cold as hell, it tastes like shit. You can't believe how much of it gets sold down here in Tijuana. Everywhere I go to parties, or even just get togethers, this godamn beer is there. It's alright, but I don't ever, ever, ever recommend buying 'Caguamas'(40's) of this shit. Cause as soon as it starts getting warmer, you're going to want to smash the bottle in a fucking dumpster. Cold as hell = Good. That's it.

Tecate is the perfect beer for day drinking. It'll get you through those warm sunny days and take you easily into night without making you pass out in between. It's one of my top choices for days at Dolores Park or parties in the park.

Don't tell my friends from Philly, but I actually prefer Tecate to Yuengling. Light enough that you can drink quite a few of them before filling up. Refreshing.

Please do take my advice. This beer....... SUCKS ASS. I've taste beers from all over the world, and this one is no where near the top, not the worst I've ever tasted though. You do get your money's worth, it's the cheapest Mexican beer available. Same price range as Bud-light and Budweiser, usually grouped together at the supermarket. Where can I start with this beer..... the taste is horrible, tastes like metal with water and a very slight taste of beer. Put it on a mug and smell it, it smells horrible!!!! WORST MEXICAN BEER I'VE EVER TASTED. Tecate LIGHT is extremely popular in Northern Mexico I have to find out what all the hype is about. Please take my unbiased opinion, this beer sucks, if you want a Mexican beer, try Modelo Negro, Dos Equis(xx), Modelo, Victoria or my all time favorite PACIFICO.

Tecate is a great beer to have when you are throwing a carne asada. With some lime and salt on the rim it makes a perfect beer. Tecate takes getting use to, so if you don't drink beer often, try something else.

This was one of the worst beers I've had in some time. For a little more money, get yourself some Pacifico if you're looking for a good Mexican beer. If I could give this beer less than one star, I would have! Que Horor!

(cough)Hellboy(cough) i actually really like the beer though. Although i usually drink stronger beers, i found Tecate to be pleasant. its far superior to the usual cheap $#!& but for a cheap $#!& cost, so that is another plus. overall on a scale of one to ten (ten being the best) i would give the beer a solid 8.

Tecate is a light tasting beer without the after taste of Corona and others

The fitst time I had this beer was on a return trip from Czechoslovakia (at the time).  I admit I was prejeduced.  It reminded me of seltzer water after drinking all that heavy headed european stuff.  Now I dig it because I live in the south not to unlike the Mexican weather and light beers go better when you are sweating, eating, playing in the surf etc.  Clean and refreshing!  I will buy this beer again for the summer!

Simple, cheap, crisp and refreshing. Not the flashiest, but a good, honest to God beer, that goes down nicely on a hot day.

Tecate used to be one of my favorites, until Modelo, Pacifico and Carta Blanca started dominating my taste buds. Compared to those beers, Tecate is rather light tasting. I still enjoy Tecate on occasion, but mainly during the summer. Best enjoyed in cans with lime and salt.

if u really want a true opinion of this beer this is the bottom line.tecate is probably one of the best beers out there. with a smooth taste it just makes u want another one. thats the problem with alot of beers they have a good taste but after two no more. before u talk bad about this beer taste it first then try a corona, a bud, or anything else. u'll see the diffrence

It gets the job done. It's cheap Mexican beer but it still is better than Budweiser.

This is the pits of Mexican beer. Very little flavor, akin to amber colored carbonated water with a sour aftertaste. I've never met many beers I didn't like - this is one of the few.

When Tecate is ice cold, it is great. It goes down really smooth and almost always has a nice flavor. I prefer drinking it out of the bottle however. I rarely drink canned beer, regardless of the brand...
