He is good but not second all time....
hardrockfanati c 07/15/2008
Favre is fun to watch and has had a great career. However, he is slightly overrated. He throws too many interceptions and his style of play has arguably cost the Packers a couple of more titles.
♥Debali cious♥ 07/14/2008
You better believe he is amazing
irishgit 04/02/2008
I liked the guy a lot in his prime, and I had a quiet admiration for his desire to push the sun back up into the sky and keep playing when he was past it.
Some younger reviewers might find that trait of his less admirable, but those of us who have been around a while and who might be a little past our own primes perhaps understand better the need to keep putting on pads and cleats.
Donovan 04/02/2008
One of the best, I really hate to see him leave the game.
treman31 04/02/2008
what else can be said.....his streak of consecutive starts and of course the stats don't like. Ever heard him make an ass out of himself in public?
Scotty1977 03/23/2008
Owns most records.. Never missed a game. A true franchise quarterback who played with heart
louiethe20th 11/23/2007
Great athlete, tough, great arm strength, great pocket presence, uncanny ability to read defenses. Favre will have every record when it is all said and done!
X Factor Z 11/20/2007
Brett still has more talent in one pinky than that over rated punk Tom Brady will ever have.
numbah16tdhaha 11/19/2007
Send more hate mail if you must, kids, but he needs to hang it so he doesn't soil his very good legacy. UPDATE: He has proven he has a little left in the tank, but he's been painful to watch more than he's been fun the last few years...
humungs 11/19/2007
Brett Favre is a living legend. I am 51 years old and have watched a lot of QB's in my days, and some great ones. But Favre has them all beat with his skill, his toughness, and his love for the game. No better have played this game.
beanebeano 11/14/2007
There should be no doubt in anyone's mind the Brett Favre is the greatest QB ever. He may have only won one Super Bowl, but he has always had less around him (offensively) than any other QB. He has also won NFL MVP an unprecidented 3 times. On and off the field, this man will be the greatest ever!
J-ROB 11/01/2007
i hate the packers but i like the CUBS ARE #1
tylerfx2 10/21/2007
brett is the best q.b. ever montana had rice who did favre have he never had a big name wideout he made his wideouts
Quinas8878 10/18/2007
Brett Favre for president. I'm not a Packers fan but I would rather watch Favre play than anyone else. He might not be the best but I wanna be just like Brett.
tanker321 10/16/2007
Not just coming from a packer fan, but he is the reason I watch football on Sundays. I will miss him when he retires. Non-packers fans are all guilty of finishing watching there hometown teams play and turning on the packers game just to watch favre in action. That says a lot. Favre is the most down-to-earth, hardnosed player to even throw the ball. Records don't mean anything to him cuz he just loves playing ball, and comes back season after season ready to play again. 4 Ever!!!!!!
Tlang 10/15/2007
I have to say even tho brett favre has the most INT he has to be Easily top 5. He will have all the records. He didnt have HOF wr's. and won 3 mvp awards with out HOW wr's. Dan didnt even do that, nor did any other qb. So how can you say he isnt easily in the top 5. He won the big game. He has had 1 loosing season. Green bay loves him. He loves football. He is all about team. He has thrown the most throws so why wouldnt he have the most int. INT arent all on the qb. I mean he did throw a lot of End of the game just to throw one just to see if maybe he could get a lucky td. So that would go -20 int. And he wouldnt have the most. So brett is my number 2 qb of all time. Montana has to be one. Easily.
georges11 10/02/2007
one of the toughest quarterbacks to ever play the game. y.a. title was tough but he was not as good a player as favre. bret favre has also won the superbowl. he has a strong arm and rarely makes mistakes.
TimD 09/29/2007
about to set all of the records. How can argue that?
marine05 08/04/2007
hands down there is no better quarterback in the history of the NFL that can do what brett favre can do. Brett favre has the strongest arm in the history of the game. Not one QB comes close to rivaling his armstrength, his toughness, his perserverence, his moxy, or his endurance. yes you say well joe montana has won more superbowls but look at who montana had to throw to. you say elway has more comebacks, well Favre has his fare share to and still counting. plus having the most comebacks isnt always a good statistic b/c its not just the defense that played poorly the first three quarter, the QB has to score too. so its sometimes "you put yourself in that position" kinda thing. now th most consecutive starts by an NFL QB, now thats a record that doesnt have a double meaning. i mean thats unheard of this day and age. i mean for christ sake he played with a broken thumb on his "throwing hand" a couple years ago and had a better passer rating than the previous year when his hand was healthy.
grglag 03/04/2007
nobody has ever done it better with more class
asdads 03/21/2006
The most overrated QB all-time. He gets way too much credit for the success of a team in a bad division, and not nearly enough for all the games he's thrown away. He's inconsistent, gets his numbers in bunches, and hides behind a starting streak. He won't take a hit, and meanwhile he's so reckless his receivers are constantly injured, and careers cut short. He's awful in the post season, and hasn't played well facing a decent defense in years. Favre is a fraud, and a detriment to the team.
favrefanatic 12/17/2005
When I think of Brett Favre 2 words come to my mind, GREATEST EVER. no doubt he is the best ever. Guys talk about Marino being the best ever better than Favre because Favre throws too many interceptions. Well here is a stat for you. In 16 seasons Dan Marino threw 252 INT. In 15 seasons Favre has thrown 202 INT. Not to mention Dan Marino has had great recievers around him and the best Favre ever threw to was Sterling Sharpe for 1 or 2 seasons. Farve won games by himself sometimes. If the packers did not have him they would of had a top 5 draft pick every year for the past 14 seasons. I strongly believe him to be the best ever and I belive when he retires I will break down and cry for the first time since they won the Super Bowl in the 1996 season. KEEP PLAYING BRETT.
adfss 12/16/2005
Brett Favre is the best QB of all time, period. 3 MVPs, a Super Bowl, 219 consecutive starts (as of 12/16/05), and the guy throws bullets literally, breaking many WRs hands. I can't think of any one else who when asked to do the impossible, does it. So many comebacks, and no matter what comes his way (dad dies, wife gets cancer, brother-in-law dies,) he doesn't lose his focus on the field. Any my favorite part about him, is that though he may be 36 years old, the guy plays with so much heart like a little kid.
kinggriffey 10/26/2005
Every qb is known for something. Montana and his rings, elway and his combacks, and marino with his monster stats.I think favre is a combination. He puts up great numbers, can win a lot of games, comeback in the fourth, and lead his team so well that they play better. Also he played very well in the superbowls. Even when he lost to elway, i feel he played better. And to be honest. If he had the teams that some of these guys one with he would clearly be number one to everyone.and he isnt a dumb hick you stupid bears fan!
CanadaSucks 05/23/2005
This dumb hick annoys be but I can't deny his greatness. One hell of a quarterback.
PlanetaryGear 05/23/2005
As a DIEHARD Lions fan (yeah, I know) I am duty bound to loath the ground this man walks on, but with that being said.....he IS the man. The math and the trophies don't lie.
Wid71 05/23/2005
Brett is the man. Nothing more needs to be said.
hamchat1 04/27/2005
He's played the best ive ever seen a quarterback play. Then, hes played the worst. i have never seen a quarterback throw 5 interceptions and 4 runback for a touchdown like he did against the Rams.
hello333 04/17/2005
Brett is a good quarterback i think the packers are a good team for him to play.
proballer22 02/01/2005
The best ever. Has a chance to break all of marino's records in 2 more years.
blarson77hocke y 01/25/2005
This guy is the most incredible leader that has ever lived. His wife was diagnosed with cancer and he shaved his head to make her feel better. Do you realize that most of the team shaved their heads too? That shows A LOT of love. He is a 3 time MVP and he didn't have great receivers untill the '04-'05 season when he was lucky to get Javon Walker. Great guy, You've gotta love 'em.
superman007007 12/29/2004
he has never had a randy moss to throw, he will have every passing record there is, he was the nfl mvp 3 times, he has a superbowl ring, until a few years ago he had never had a great running back(dont even try to say dorsey levens and edgar bennet are stars) and noone has more heart then Favre. he plays at lambeau field where the weather conditions are lousy(not in a dome where there is zero wind) And he is known as the greatest 2 minute drill quarterback ever. People argue that he costs the Packers the occasional game with a bad interception, but who wouldnt throw one occasionally when he is constantly having to force thrwos to make plays. If anyone even tries to argue that he isnt one of the best ever they know nothing about football.
Likeitatnoon 11/29/2004
Not the best-ever and not even in the top 10. He has a great arm but not the smartest QB. He has been blessed with great RB's. To packer's fans he is God, to the rest of the world he is average on a good day. He has lost more big games than won.
ellis 11/26/2004
One of the most courageous QB's ever, on and of the field, but I have never liked how Favre will make stupid throws to take Green Bay out of games in the fourth, and no one ever questions him because of who he is. Still, a very good quarterback.
sundevil21 09/28/2004
Anybody who comes up with an excuse for why Favre isn't the best ever needs to look at the numbers. He's the reason why the Packers consistently have big numbers, big wins, and trips into the playoffs.
jerry0971 08/13/2004
great receivers make any qb look good any day,
footballhead99 08/10/2004
If Brett Favre isn't in your top 3 for best qb's of all-time, you're nuts. By the end of his career, he has the chance to have almost every passing record there is, yet people still keep saying how much better elway, marino, and montana were. I can't see any other quarterback, including marino, montana, and elway, that could turn the packers, who were the worst team in the nfl for 2 straight decades, into a team that went to the playoffs nearly every year
widgeon 07/21/2004
I love the packers and Brett but too many time when the game was on the line he took it upon himself to win it, not a detractor of his accomphishments but gamblers win and lose, with montana's cast bad ass brett wins 4 or 5
buckytico 07/17/2004
He is simply the best QB to ever played the game, there is no matching the love and heart he puts into the game, it's incredible.
Attitude Bob 06/25/2004
He's the best QB around and the Packers are also the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
soulfunkstein 05/16/2004
Great modern QB will play hurt (admirable)won the MVP Three times but he is not the defining QB i would want the ball in his hands with two minutes left in the game and he does not make other players better.
bio_haz_ard 04/26/2004
Best QB of all time!! go pack!!
Favreisthemast er4 04/05/2004
Best ever.
stallion550 04/04/2004
He is not just a quarterback, he is a total football player. He has one of the strongest arms in the league and had broken fingers from receivers to back it up. He also has 3 mvp awards (even though Barry Sanders should have been the lone winner in 1997). The best thing about him is that he just has fun playing the game.
optionfootball 03/14/2004
Right now on this list he is 15th, what the hell is the matter with you people? No one man is more important to his team in all of sports, maybe history, than Brett Favre. Without him the Packers are a 4-12 every season.
wicky369 03/12/2004
I dont like the Pack, but this guy is one of the best of all time
jgls 01/08/2004
after he retires it will be difficult to keep him out of my top 5 which includes marino, unitas, graham, elway, and montana.
