Another excellent entry by Kurosawa, and probably a little more accessable to the casual fan than some of his other work. The classic western movie fan will be familiar with the Clint Eastwood version A Fistful of Dollars.
Personally, I prefer "Rashamon," "Ran" and "The Seven Samurai" of Kurosawa's canon, but this is indisputably brilliant.

"Ran" plus "Seven Samurai" usually top the Kurosawa fan and critic's lists- but for me, his western-interpretation of this Samurai tale is a terrific example of his work. Look for the scene that inspired George Lucas' clever hiding sequence in "Star Wars". . .and look for the good (and bad) Hollywood remakes of this story. Good stuff if you're a serious film fan.

A great, influential film from Kurosawa.

Toshiro Mifune is still the last samurai.

It was a great film, but I was a bit disapointed, expecting to see more action.

Yojimbo is a great movie. Spectacular acting and directing from two of the greatest. It is so good, bruce willis did a remake and so did the tv show pokemon.
