Not being terribly interested in Japanese movies or video games, and assuming that anyone with a username like 'JonTheMan' wasn't worth a second look, I only discovered Jon's posts recently. I must say I am very, very impressed; it's not often that you find someone with such high level writing skills and intelligence to match; the fact that he's so young only makes his work that much more impressive. I'll definitely be reading more of Jon's stuff, provided he spends less time playing video games and more time writing on RIA!

Polite, idealistic, intelligent, and articulate, with a fantastic sense of humor. Definitely a model reviewer who should come around a little more often.

UPDATE: JonTheMan doesn't seem to write nearly as much anymore, but that is ok. It just means when he does leave a comment, it is all the more fun to read. I think Jon is really intelligent and I have always liked his sense of humor. A really cool reviewer and a superb writer. He will be going places someday if he already isn't...

A man who can mix intelligence with humour. Usually, it's one or the other. Most of his reviews are neutral, normally respecting both sides. His comments (unlike some of mine) are good to read.

It's kind of hard to gauge how quick someone is on their feet by just reading their comments online. That being said, I get the feeling that JTM is VERY sharp. Lots of understated humor in his posts, lots of very subtle points. When you combine brains with a good disposition, it makes for pretty good reading. Thanks for all the great posts, Jon.

Although I have avoided rating reviewers, here I will make an exception. I've been paying attention to JonTheMan's posts and after looking at his page, I was shocked to see his age! I'm shocked at how well-written and intelligent his posts are. He's truly a delight here on RIA and I have to say I loved his comment on what he would call his wife on the 'You Know You're Republican If'.

A reviewer with a unique sense of humor, JonTheMan has also provided numerous suggestions for my weblists, especially the Some Questions and Hypotheticals and Methods of Transportations lists. He is one of the few reviewers that took the time to read many episodes from my long-running series, Gopher's Gateway and gave the series a fairly positive review. He also is a Star Trek fan, which never hurts either. And, I've rarely seen him use profanity or have a disrespectful attitude either.

He's got a sense of humour, you've gotta give the Limey kid that. Pretty thick skinned too, which is always a plus. Bright, an above average writer, and pretty thoughtful and open minded. However, the fact that it took him, as he claims, a month to understand what a nasty little shanty Mick is, speaks to a lapse in his research techniques.

Ive been reading more of JTMs posts lately and find that I am enjoying his writing style. I especially thought he did a good job with his review of Moosekarloff which I felt was a much more level-headed, fair and open-minded assessment than my own. Given his apparent world knowledge and writing skill, I was somewhat surprised when visiting his page that he is so young (not that the Freak and others havent proven time and again that you dont have to be a geezer to know whats going on in the world). Anyway, I think Jon is a good addition to the site as he seems to be someone who can not only write well and honestly but with a nice touch of humor and good heartedness as well.

Very cool person to talk to, especially on anime'. Polite and weird (in a good way), he's got a nice sense of humor. It's hard not to like him.

Oh I like reading his reviews a lot, smart, diplomatic, and sincere.

I've never understood why many of his posts are rated unhelpful so often. Granted his early stuff was pretty radical but if you actually read his posts, many of them are very informative and knowledgable. Really, how many teenage boys even know who John Maynard Keynes and Milton Friedman are? If we are to praise Redoedo for his expansive knowledge of presidential history, then we should also give kudos to JonTheMan for his obvious acumen in political and economical ideaologies.

His posts include logic as well as respect.
