08/28/2003 | I LOVE Ricky Martin but I strongly disagree that these were his best songs-in any language. The fans favorite is still Vuelve,released 1997. Almas Del Sílencio may eclipse that though. Once again,language aside-it has nothing to do with both these albums being majorly in Spanish. Even most only-English-speaking fans say that Vuelve is thier favorite of his albums.

06/25/2003 | I just love Gloria Estefan. She's so pretty and....Oh wait, this is Ricky.. I get the two confused, they look so much alike. Looks like another fan club has struck again. I guess they all got together over a bowl of cocoa puffs and plotted for supremacy of shallow crappy pop. For that they must be commended but might I mention that a Saved by the Bell rerun is playing so you might want to catch it and leave the music to those who do more than shake their little tushy.. Summation: Ricky sucks !!

05/12/2003 | You can bash Ricky Martin all you want, but this guy has put out some of the best pop songs in recent history. "Livin La Vida Loca," "The Cup of Life," "She Bangs," and "Maria" are all excellent...they are catchy, fun to listen to, energetic, fresh, and have great melodies and music. The lyrics may be simple, but not all music has to be complex to be good. And while Ricky may not have the best voice ever, it's certainly good and he is a great performer. That said, however, I agree that Ricky has not had a long and prosperous enough career to put out a greatest hits album, and the tracks I have not mentioned are pretty bad. This album is filled with sappy, by-the-numbers ballads like "Nobody Wants to be Lonely" and ridiculously cheesy dance-pop numbers like "Shake Your Bon Bon." For the record I didn't buy this album, but I've heard most of the songs on it, and overall this is not a very good collection but it does feature a few killer tracks.

Anyway his music and lyrics are pre-school stuff so it is only his looks and style that make him the record sales that he has got.

01/14/2003 | A lot of 80s bands were bad about doing this - releasing one or two albums and their next LP is a "greatest hits" package, which only means one thing - he's trying to squeeze out another album so it'll fulfill his contract. He really must be in a creative funk. Not enough albums to have a greatest hits package, simply put.

07/18/2002 | I feel really sorry for some people here who rate the artist and they even don't know his best and the most famous songs.How can they rate then his album "The Best of Ricky Martin"?
The album is the proof that Ricky Martin has achevied in his huge artistic time span/18 years/the planty of high quality music and he could easily fill at least three albums with it,not just two.
Great work from one of the greatest artist of our time!

07/17/2002 | Not long time ago I bought few CDs,among them also THE BEST of Ricky Martin.I don't belong to those group of peoples who have been describe in the "haters'" messages here.
Belonging to a majority of the citizans of the world and being highly educated and hard working person, far away from any latino culture connection,I have found the music of Ricky Martin extremely enjoyable and inspiring and Ricky has been the one who among the all others latin artists has been able to introduce the latin culture to the other parts of the world.
His music makes people happy and his balads are simply breathtaking.
I have given to the Best of.... the best mark possible.
And at the end,don't hate him if he is better in anything and everything than you,"haters"...

02/25/2002 | My culture background is not westernized,is more ethnic and oriental.Therefor I don't find music of the new pop "elite",Britney and company very attractive,the only one who come very close to my ears and heart from this group is Ricky Martin.
His music somehow captures the sound of my culture as well,but at the same time it expresses the vibrations of the so many people around the world.It's so easy to identified yorself with his music and his emotions and that's his greatness.
"The Best of Ricky Martin"captures the sounds,the emotions,the rythms of him and all of us in one enormous hymn to the glory of life.

02/21/2002 | I bought this CD by the way as a Christmas gift for my sister who is a HUGE fan of Ricky Martin.I've myself never minded for him at all,never been a really fan of his till now.I am more in that kind of Enya music and thought Ricky's artistic expression is more for teenage girls and boys who want to spend great dancing night in discoes.But this album is a very good mixture of his best english songs and here I come,Ricky Martin,in me you have a new,devoted fan.

The choice of the music for this album is excellent,enjoyable,great party songs-Cup of life,LLVL,Maria,are there.
This CD is for those who are looking for the music whick makes you dance,enjoy life,having a fun,but at the same time to share an intimate moment with the loved ones or with yourself and your soul
Great album of the king of the pop.
