I like Betty alot! Would like to see her dump Archie for good, because he only needs her when he can't get what he wants (a date with Veronica or some other girl/ needs his car fixed/ needs help with homework)! See needs to see what he is A CHEEP,WHORTHLESS SON OF A B*TCH WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT HIMSELF! Jughead or Dilton would be a better boyfriend for her!

Betty was sweet and kind, granted, but I always liked Veronica more. She was sexy, strong and savvy with great fashion sense, and doesn't fawn over the undeserving Archie the way Betty does. I always felt her character had more depth than Betty, who always seemed to be a bit of a one-dimensional, perfect subservient-American-housewife type of girl. She always seemed weak to me. Although I must say both of them deserve better than Archie Andrews! Someone recently compared them to Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. Although both of them have slightly different characters, I think the overall impression of this comparision is actually pretty accurate. Sweet VS Sexy. This time, sexy wins hands down for me, even though I do love Betty.

Betty and Veronica now live in San Francisco and are happily civil unionized.

I like Betty, she's very sweet, kind, etc... But the only thing I REALLY don't like about her, is how she chases Archie, while he always prefers Veronica. Doesn't she have any pride?

Well, she is my fav character. The girl next-door who is pretty, attractive,curvy, has a great personality and has the largest heart one could ever find. I really don't know what she sees in Archie, who keeps dumping her for rich and sophisticated Veronica. She really needs to find another guy. How about Reggie or the infamous Jason Blossom who has fallen really hard for her. I've read the comics on and off since the 50's and it's always been Betty all the way. With a great deal of joy I can say that I'm married to a Betty Cooper type of lady and couldn't be happier.

I never viewed Betty as subserviant to Archie. What she felt for Archie was true love. She worshipped him but always kept her self respect. I wanted her to end up with Archie of course. But we all know the sweetie never gets the guy!

I still have all my Archies comics from the early 70's. There are two types of women in this world, Betty's and Veronica's. I learned at an early age I wanted a Betty and still haven't found her yet :) But I'll keep trying.

When I was a kid, I used to wish I could be Archie, so I could dump Veronica and have Betty instead. She was just the type of girl I wanted. Let me slip in a marginal comment here: some years ago, there was an Archie cartoon series on television. It was terrible! They gave these characters some of the most insane voices. I'm glad it didn't last.

Betty Cooper is the dreamgirl next door. She is everything that Veronica Lodge isn't. Mostly she is far too good to be true. Just how long in reality would a vivacious and curvaceous natural blonde who has a great personality, is intelligent, warm and sincere, a great cook and is completely down to earth be available? The Betty Coopers of this world are truly a rare find indeed. What in the world does she see in Archie Andrews?

Betty is probably one of the most unflawed characters in the comic... pure-hearted, sensitive, gentle, generous, and just an all-around decent young woman. She's always quick to lend a helping hand, and not afraid to get dirty. Even though Veronica is the rich one, Archie doesn't realize how lucky he is to have a girlfriend like Betty... that's REAL fortune!
