The only reality show that actually has a purpose. All other reality shows are virtually meaningless. I've been a fan of this show for awhile and still one of my favorites.

AMW is one of the best reality shows of all time. Not only is it entertaining, but it actually serves a purpose to communities throughout the country. How many other reality shows can say that?

One of the few reality shows out there with a purpose. On a side note, the list for this topic is probably one of the biggest on this site - reality shows have taken over television! Not so sure that it's a good thing...

It's kind of a "snitch" program but I think John Walsh is cool, nonetheless, and the show is always entertaining. The re-enactments are good and well-acted also.

This is a great show. You have a great host in John walsh who knows what it is like to have a crime committed against him and they put people behind bars.

I know that this show is helpful in that it brings people to justice, but at the same time it can be very depressing watching scene after depressing scene of criminal activity. They put this show on at 9PM EST on Saturday night. This is not exactly the kind of cheerful stuff I like to watch before going to bed.

I have a personal interest in these crime shows (real or fabricated) as I'm a criminal justice major, so I used to watch it religiously, but I've found other shows dealing with crime to peak my interest lately. I still watch it from time-to-time, as I like that it's real and that it's helping bring people to justice or get resolve to family members of lost loved ones though.

One of the original reality shows, and still one of the best. The only show out there that is committed to actually helping people and not trashing it up to make money.

Not only interesting viewing, it also makes me aware of how criminals work and their intimidation tactics and how they attack a person. Makes me more aware of my surroundings and helps us to realize that 'it could happen to us.' So we have to be careful and not do silly things like a lone woman walking down a dark alley at night, or leaving your house unlocked. Plus it helps the police to catch a lot of criminals that they may not have otherwise caught.

This show is arguably the most effective use of 'realty tv',considering it's responsible for getting some very bad scumbags out of circulation.

Very good show. You can actually learn stuff from what the criminals did and where they are laying low and who they are, if you want to learn about criminals. Watch America's Most Wanted.

Keep up the hunt, Mr. Walsh. America needs more people brave enough to lay down the punk cards on criminals.

This show deserves a 5 simply because of the positive effect it has had on locating kidnapped children and escaped criminals. I'm not even sure it should be listed as a reality show because the scenes are all re-enactments, not reality. These re-enactments are low budget and poorly done, but when I consider that they are re-creating actual crimes, horrible crimes (I guess that's the reality part), I am glad that they toned the true reality down! How many other reality shows out there can say they have saved lives?

Very important show. I am surprised that some of these ridiculous, even trashy shows are ahead of AMW. Excellent concept....and it has had wonderful results over the years in capturing so many criminals.

Great show, Fantastic show. It is entertaining to watch and it is also good at informing the public of the scum that lives in our public. The people who get away with these horrible acts deserve to be put in jail. I hope america watches this in order to put away these creeps that infest our country.

I only gave it a 2 because the show does have a useful premise. John Walsh, the creator and host, however, is nothing more than a coward and a phony who is using the death of his son to become incredibly wealthy. He LIED for years about his son's murderer still being on the loose, although the guy was caught and convicted YEARS ago...even more disgusting is that John didn't even bother to attend the trial or conviction of the man who killed his son! He then sits there a few feet in front of accused criminals who are bonded in handcuffs, and calls *them* cowards! Yeah, Jonny, say that to them like a MAN, with the cuffs and shackles off, and no stormtroopers around to cover your ass. Didn't think so. Your son is probably rolling around in agonizing shame inside of his grave, incredulous as to what a worm God gave him for a father.

The five stars are for the show and it's concept. John Walsh, however, has entered a period of shameless self promotion. He scowls at the camera as though he, diminutive as he is, presents a threat to the criminal element in this country. I LAUGH IN HIS FACE! Speaking of self promotion....Marc Klass who's daughter Polly was murdered has lost my respect after his shameful defense of the shoplifter Wynonna Ryder. He actually stood outside the courthouse and said he thought she had been victimized. Hey Marc, she committed a crime and was punished although not as harshly as she should have been. And you say she was victimized? Richard Allen Davis committed a crime when he murdered your daughter. He too was punished. Did you think he was victimized also? I know, Ryder is a so called "celebrity" which is what you want to be therefore you felt it proper to kiss her ass.

This show is great!!! It helps take those psychotic barbaric murderers, rapists, child molesters, robbers, burglars, con artists, and robbers off our streets and put them behind bars where they belong.

This is the most important show on television. Mr. Walsh is a great American who's given his entire life to catch as many criminals as he can. We need more people like him in this country. He tells it like it is.

"America's Most Wanted" should'nt even be considered a show. It's more of an informative presentation to help catch criminals.

I am very surprised that this show only had three stars. This show is excellent for catching violent criminals that have been on the run for a long time. I look at this show every Saturday because many of the criminals on the show look like normal everyday working class people, but yet they could have killed somebody's daughter, son, grandmother, father etc. I want to know who to look out for in the violent world we live in.

AMW doesn't have any possible bad effect to it at all. They have helped to capture hundreds and hundreds of criminals that probably wouldn't have been brought to justice without the assitance of America's Most Wanted. John Walsh's son was senselessly kidnapped and murdered, so he can sympathize with the grieving families he encounters. It is good that after the 9/11 attacks, they did a show dedicated to terrorism.
