Ask any chef - Emeril is a joke. But he's entertaining, that's why he has his chefs run his kitchens and he plays the court jester on TV.

Good fun to watch him screwing up the food recipes live in front of his live audience...........

Emeril is a good cook, but a complete douche. He is too annoying and painful to watch.

this being a cooking show. he does a nice job showing how to prepare all those dishes. He seems to have a good sense of humor too. I wish I could be there to sample some of those meals he makes.

Emeril LaGasse is not an actor, he's a chef! Not unfunny at all, stupid. Oh it pained me to see Emeril try to act.

The man is talented and knows how to cook. He is a real showman. I, however, would prefer less audience participation -- but still I do enjoy watching him occasionally.

NBC kicked Emeril down a notch - back to cable where he belongs. Completely horrid.

I watched the first show and I'll give it time to see if it gets any better. It has a chance with better stories then the first one.

I think I'm being a bit generous giving "Emeril" four stars, but I think it has potential. I saw the premiere last night, and it was fairly entertaining in spots. The show features Emeril (the Food Network chef) who stars in his own cooking show, just like he does in real life. Emeril is actually a pretty good actor, and he's surrounded by some funny characters, including his stage manager and food stylist. Last night's plot, which revolved around the efforts of the cooking show staff to lose weight, was good for quite a few laughs. I'll definitely check out the show again.
