This court is way down off the glory years of 2003-04, but when the sun is shining, it can still get going. Weekdays have become more consistent than weekends - on a sunny day, you can get a run from about 4:30 to 7 any day of the week. Things might start picking up again with the departure of a few knuckleheads who have moved away. They play ones and twos here, so if you can shoot the ball, you'll be welcome.

What's an aggro frat boy? Some of these SF terms leave me guessing. I went to the cage a couple times and was dragging, out of shape. A good time with competetive games.

every time I've played out here, I've seen someone get hurt...the last time I was there some guy swung his shoulder and completely busted some guy's eyebrow open...they play a little too hard for my liking down there and usually I've seen more 'weekend warrior' injuries down there than i would have liked. I talk plenty of ish in the panhandle, where i've lived and played in for 4 years, but some of those kids straight up want to fight...I dunno - there's a lotta aggro fratboys that play down there...that's the Marina for ya I guess.

During the winter, games start as early as 4:00PM when it is sunny out and last until about 6:00 or 6:30. During the summer games sometimes go as late as 8:00PM. There are lights on at night on weekdays, but not on weekends.

Saturday am is typically the most crowded and argumentative. You would have difficulty finding a better outdoor game in the City. Overall, players are athletic and appear to be well-schooled in the game of roundball. Be aware: contrary to the more politically correct, 1st come 1st served, teams are selected by the individual who has “next” game. Make sure to ask who got next upon entering the court.

Looking for an Outdoor Basketball Destination Place... Then look no further than "The Cage in the Marina"... Nicknamed "The Cage" for the Wrought Iron Fence that encloses it, this three-quarters court caters to those that love the outdoor run. Local Knowledge is a must... The painted lines surrounding the court are overlooked as the fence and the metal stantions define out of bounds. Games are played to twelve... with Two Points from behind the arc. The NEW TEAM coming on receives the ball and then the teams flip sides when when team gets to six... They call this "The Half". You'll likely find run later in the afternoon during the week on sunny days (around 4:30pm or 5pm) ...On weekends, look for run around 11am.
