This court is back, and it's better than ever. The concrete has some cushion to it, and the views of Alcatraz and North Beach make it one of the most scenic places to play hoops that I've ever seen. The four on four tournaments that used to dominate this court have slid down the river into basketball lore, and now it is a full court run. The only downside is the tight, double rims.

Best court conditions in the City (full-sized, no wind, great on a sunny day). Too bad no lights. Only one half-court now thanks to Dunkin’ Darren Rankin’s power slam. Someone let me know when they fix it.

Somehow the weather is alway good to perfect up on this hill overlooking the Bay. Show up on a Sat morning for 4 on 4. Lots of picking and shooting. If you can run and jump, don't bother going, you will be wasting your talent.

it's a ballsy call, but there's no better outdoor court in the city. generally there's game, often scrappy - it's about the longest court around (is this good or bad?) and there's usually no wind and no fog (miraculously it seems to be held at bay and works around russian hill). as previously commented, saturday mornings for the past 15 years has been 'reserved' for half court games. by 12:30 it's full court and stays that way the rest of the week. not too many folks interested in mixing it up, but it has it's share of arguments and scuffles (it's b-ball). bottom line it's a great place to hang out in the sun, take in some of the awesome city views and get your share of running.

Is it a sunny Saturday Morning and you are looking for run? Had a hard night out on Friday and want to release some the "spirits"... Head to Russian Hill and be thankful you are playing HALF Court 4 on 4... Don't come too late unless you want to extend yourself into FULL COURT... It has to be regulation or it seems to be compared to other courts in the area. This run works on a first come, first serve basis. Hidden in the Park it may be a bit difficult to find but don't worry... the run is consistent and the players are very competitive and "chippiness" is an anomally. Work on your "pick and roll" and you will do well at this site. Work on your stamina because there is very little transition but numerous scrambles for the loose ball... Also keep in mind that the Free Throw is all you have to get to to take it back... The pace is quite quick in this half court set!

To start, the two poles supporting the rims pose a threat to anyone interested in lay-ups. The game seems to be more half court oriented and the comp and talent is bit older. Sometimes a bit of a hack fest, but I don't play there often enough to confirm nor deny. Doesn't get me pumped going there, but good option if the Marina is not going...

Solid, consistent competition. Surprisingly low wind factor, which is great. Pros and cons to the fact that it is half-court 4 on 4 until late morning.
