I used to love a Hike in the woods with my old Chow-mix. These days, my roommates dogs make a pretty good substitute.

Substitute "gun" for "dog", and I'm in.

A couple years ago while walking my Schnauzer, Luc, out of thin air (almost literally), he got his ass torn up by a Pit while he was simply sniffing the grass. Tore his trachea, ripped up his whole *&$@ really. He was in the hospital for two weeks DURING CHRISTMAS. God, it broke my heart. Now, when he tries to bark it sounds all high almost like he's whistling. Long story short, now, walks have become too tense to enjoy. All I can think about is how much harder I'm gonna punch it's face when this time - how I'm gonna empty this whole damn can of mace on it's face! Feels like an eternity when you're trying to get a Pit off your buddy. I guess you have to experience it to know what I mean. But yeah, walks have become all about business. I hate stupid bastards that just let pits walk around without a leash like it's no big deal. YOUR STUPIDITY CAUSED MY FAMILY HEARTBREAK! I fantasize about grabbing a pit with my hands around it's neck and STRANGLING THE LIFE OUT OF IT! People call me crazy, but I truly believe if I got one with my hands around it's neck to where my fingertips are touching, and adrenaline pumping.............IT'S LIFE IS OVER!

A good dog means a real dog, not some over-sized rat masquerading as a canine. Something that wants to run freely, jump in the water, chase a stick or a ball, sniff around and explore while I stroll and think.

I love hiking through the woods or taking a walk down by the reservoir, but I don't have a dog yet. My husband and I take a picnic with us, and drop a little piece of brownie by an anthill and watch them work on it. We bring a big bag of corn to feed the ducks and geese, if there are any, and if there's a little kid nearby, I ask their parents if it's okay for their kid to feed the ducks. Sometimes, it's their first time feeding ducks, and it's just nice to see how happy the kid is with such a simple pleasure. I take my digital camera with me usually, and end up taking pictures of various things. That's what I like doing on nice weekends.

I enjoy hiking mountains and stopping by a nice waterfall.

I don't have a dog, but we do have a place near the lake surrounded by woods. The trees looking as though they reach the heavens is what God intended I believe. Walking into the woods with my family is just breath-taking, hearing the crackle of the leaves, taking in the smell, hearing the sweet call of the birds, animals and since the lake is nearby you can the sloshing of the waves oh it is quite wonderful. After the walk in the woods, taking a walk on the shore by the lake and gazing at the sometimes peaceful water, and sometimes rough water(best time is at sunset with the orange/yellow sun reflecting off the water) is just as breath-taking).

I'm not an outdoors person. Here you can find all kinds of threatening creatures and insects, a lack of technology and simple boredom. It's not so bad when your with another person, however.
