I am sure this is great for some people. I've neve coached anything in my life. I don't play sports. I would probably get frustrated with the whole thing. I bet it is a wonderful rush when you get your team to win, though. The sense of pride has to be worth it.

I've coached football and baseball for a combined twenty five seasons. It is simultaneously the most frustration and the most fun I have all year. I wouldn't miss it.

My husband is the jock, not me, so he was a coach for kid's basketball team, and I was sort of the team mom; I did what I do best; provide food, drinks, bandaids, etc. I do know that nothing made my husband happier than when he was involved with that team. All the kids were like his foster kids or something, he was very protective of them all. One time we were at a game and some loud mouth jerk started treating these 4th graders like they were NBA players or something, and my husband went off so much on the guy, I was scared he might have ended up in jail that night. That was the only time he had to deal with something like that, but after that, the kids respected him even more so than before. He did that coaching job for about 4 years straight.

I taught my son how to box years ago but it's my hope to someday train young kids to box in the amateurs. This would be one definitely give me pleasure.

First of all I applaud those who have the patience and devotion to coach any kind of team. I know it takes a special kind of person who can do this. I would not be one of those people. I would have a hard time putting up with the parents for one thing. So although it would not be my idea of pleasures in life, a big thank you to the special people out there who are willing to coach a kids team.
