Wake up, hit the alarm, repeat as Necessary. Stumble into the Kitchen, pour some coffee, Repeat as necessary. Eventually, the Day begins. Made good, or at least, tolerable, by the Magic that is Coffee.

Intoxicating.

Figuratively speaking, it is just a sip. I have a couple of cups to get me going in the morning, and that's it. But I do like having my morning coffee. It helps me get started.

One of the first steps in getting fueled for the day.

I love...LOVE that first sip of fresh coffee in the morning.

Coffee has always been sort of a problem for me, as well as a crutch. Back in the day, when I suffered from intense insomnia (I often went 2 or 3 days without sleep), I lived on this stuff. In recent years, I've made a concerted effort to cut back on it. Still, those first 2 cups of coffee in the morning I'm unwilling to do without, come what may. I can wake up depressed, groggy, listless, sour-tempered....(as I often do)...and by the end of that first steaming cup, my whole mood has been changed around, at least for awhile. Suddenly, I'm an optimist, and the world looks bright. By the end of the 2nd cup, I'm a can-do go-getting self-starter (at least for an hour or so). It's a thin line with coffee, though. If I have more than 2 cups, I become jittery, my mood can, and often does, sink precipitously into the black abyss that is my normal temperament, and the world has transformed itself back into the sh*thole of despair it was before I awoke from my troubled slumber. I guess it's like anything else...taken in moderation, coffee can be a beneficial thing (it's a great natural laxative, by the way, if you have problems in that area), but too much can bring on shaky nerves, paranoia, irritability, heart problems, insomnia, etc. etc.

Followed by the first smoke of the morning, I'd die without my coffee.

I do like a cup of coffee in the morning. I wish we had one of those fancy coffee makers that makes real good tasting coffee. we like flavored creamers to make it different each morning.

It's usually Dr. Pepper for me, but it wakes me up. (With as much caffinee it has.....)

Coffee gives me migraines, certainly not a pleasurable experience. How about hot chocolate, perhaps?

...unless you burn your tongue.

I'm apparently the only person who likes coffee, but doesn't like it really hot. First of all, it burns my tongue like a son of a gun. Second, I can't stand little sips. I guess that's why I prefer frozen coffee.

I have a coffee maker with a timer so when I wake up I can smell the fresh brewed coffee. That makes the first sip even more inviting.

I'm a long way from being a morning person, but this is the way my day always starts and it always makes me smile. Its a grim smile, but its a smile. About half the time, I'm finishing the cup standing in the shower.

I'm a hard core coffee drinker and that first cup really gets me going. I can be cranky in the early morning.
MariusQelDroma 11/10/2004
Better pass me two cups anymore. I'm no morning person, but coffee helps a ton. :)

My morning life savor! I could wake up in a crappy mood and the sip of deliciously warm coffee gets rid of it. It's even better in winter.

on days that i work this is more akin to a pothead's first bong hit of the day.

As long as It gets me prepped up!

This IS one of life's sublime little pleasures. A daily ritual for me, usually right at sunrise, with absolutely the best coffee money can buy and a master can brew, black, of course, in my favorite chair with a view of the mountains.

I don't drink coffee in the morning, I drink a good soft drink!
