 | SZinHonshu (44) 02/20/2006 | When I left L.A. for an eight month university assignment overseas, I was wondering if I would miss driving, as it is such an everyday part of my life. When I came back (2 1/2 years later) I was home about 48 hours before I began to feel pangs of loss for the trains and subways of Japan.

 | VirileVagabond (32) 12/03/2005 | Besides transporting freight, trains really only work well in high density areas (eg Western Europe, Northeast U.S.). Is less dense areas, trains are simply uneconomical to maintain as a system that will take the critical mass of people to where they want to go when they want to go.

 | Mr.Political (18) 11/18/2004 | Depends where your using them. For example, if you use the European trains, you'll have a good chance of enjoying your train ride. However, if you go on some train in the middle of a long abandoned village in Africa, you might just find this mode of transportation not as pleasant.
