Somehow I lived 30 years of my life without knowing what a pomegranate is and the first taste told me that I have wasted my first 30 years not eating it.They are hard to get into indeed, but the reward is way worth the while for me. My husband has never bothered eating any other food that's hard to get into, but he likes pomegranates so much that he's perfected his skills in getting into one of these.

Delicious, but really annoying to open and eat.

The pomegranate (Punica granatum) is a fruit-bearing deciduous shrub or small tree growing to between five and eight metres tall.

Tastes good, but too hard to eat.

Too much trouble to eat, and messy too. Buy the juice instead.

I buy these once in a while and then I remember about all those @*&%^$! seeds! The juice is nice and sweet, though.

too much work for me

Too much work for too little reward. I think the reason they had slaves in the ancient world is to prepare this kind of food for consumption.

This fruit is native to where I currently reside. Probably a very underrated fruit. It's quite uncommon, doesn't have very many uses, but I love to freeze them (like I freeze all candy I buy and all fruit I buy). Makes a great tasting juice, also. The fruit stains VERY EASILY and opening the husks to get the fruit and be very messy. Red blood color everywhere -looks like you just slaughtered a pit bull terrier and were in the process of copulating with its carcass (but I'm not a pervert). DAMN! POMEGRANATE!

I *love* pomegranates, but unfortunately, I can only get them at the local grocery stores in late October. If I could, I'd eat them year round!

I love the novelty - like sunflower seeds in a fruit. Very cool.

Eh...they are a novelty. They taste okay, but they stain so badly. It's impossible to realistically eat these things.

Who actually eats Pomegranates?? This isn't the Ancient World, people! Wake up and eat REAL food!
