 | GenghisTheHun (179) 12/29/2006 | I hate these "international tribunals." I wish the USA would stay out of them and away from such entities.
They have no basis in law, usually exact penalties ex post facto, and generally are kangaroo courts. I include the Nuremberg and Japanese War Crimes Courts in that category.
What we used to do in the good old days was shoot these monsters on the battlefield or in a peremptory manner much as we treated the Werewolves in Germany after the WII surrender.

 | Sundiszno (32) 07/18/2004 | This question is pretty much OBE, now that Saddam is in Iraqi custody and will be tried by an Iraqi court. I don't think it would have been a good idea for an international tribunal to try him - my sensing is that they would be pretty lenient on him. It is interesting that Saddam (or his family) apparently has hired about 20 lawyers, including Muslims/Arabs, Europeans, and at least one US lawyer, to defend him. He sure wants to avail himself of advantages he never gave to any of his opponents. He's still such an arrogant bastard!
