No confidence at all. Check out this video and you'll see why we should all be concerned.http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.asp

Of course it is. The media has a way of scaring you and getting crazy thoughts put in to your head. Food is just as good as it ever was. I have heard however that some red meat we buy from the store has a small amount of hormones in them, that may be true. I love meat tho and its not enough hormones to alter your body. As far as anything alse....Nah, food is good. When in doubt do research before you buy the product. Also read the NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION on the product (I been doing that alot lately myself). I mean if your that worried about what food to buy.

I feel extremely confident about the food I buy at the grocery. Making my own food from the grocery is a lot cleaner and safer than going out to eat but sometimes I just can't say no to 'Outback.'

Sure there are problems with food quality in grocery stores from time to time, but that's just going to happen sometimes. In general, the food in grocery stores is perfectly safe to eat, especially if you prepare it properly (don't undercook pork or chicken, etc.). Don't you think the food is of a lot higher quality now than it was a couple of hundred years ago? Besides, if you're going to worry about it, what are you going to do? You have to get your food from somewhere.

Now that the FDA is making the food producers place commonsensical descriptions on the ingrediant labels we may be able to better judge for ourselves. If it's cyanide, call it cyanide...not 1-trithistoxicmorsalanddiamorbiddeathazone.

I'm not confident about any of the food on our shelves, but the way I see it if we paid too much attention to whats going on with our food, we simply wouldn't eat.

Not Confident.Japan tests 100% of it's beef-we test less than 15%.There is plenty of evidence that Genetically Modified foods are harmful, but they are NOT required to label them as such.Same goes for irradiated foods.Pesticide is sprayed all over the fruits and vegetables, and just washing them is not doing much good. Why do you think obesity and cancer are growing problems here? D I E T !!!

Sometimes you just have to trust. What are the alternatives. But I do admit, sometimes I am skeptical.

I've always trusted the Food & Drug Administration to provide us healthy and safe foods. So yes I am confident.

Given that I live in a major urban centre, if it isn't, I'm screwed anyway, so why worry.

For the most part, safe. Every now and then I will get something that was past the date, and they sold it. It seems that they try and take the items off the shelf that have expired, but sometimes they miss one and on rare occasions so do I. last week I bought a lunchable few days past the due date. I am still here so I guess I did not get to rotten of food.

All food is a drug. People are not smart enough to use food properly, that's why there are so many fat people and sickly fuchs wobbling around. Food is not dangerous, people are.

Most food at most grocery stores are fine, or at least haven't killed me yet. There'll always be a few exceptions (like the one time I got a package of cheese that got opened and got all gross and moldy, but hey, they're human, they're going to overlook a few things, and it's not like they won't replace it with a good one). I'm sure there'll be less-than-sanitary conditions for many places, but so far I've been okay with my local stores.

Generally speaking, yes. There are plenty of standards and safeguards for the processing and storage of foods in the US. Every once in a while there is a scare about beef, or ice cream, or canned tuna, or something, but reaction is quick to limit the damage. Travel to some less developed countries and you'll think twice about eating meat that's been hanging outside a shop window a day or two attracting flies.

I think it is mostly safe, there are labels read them and make your own choices.

Well it's never hurt me or anyone I know.
