This is a really good magazine if all you care about are lots of pictures of bands, since that's all they seem to produce. So bands like Slipknot and the Kovenant and a number of Norwegian black metal bands tend to get most of the attention, because those bands photograph well (they all wear ridiculous makeup or masks). I kind of grew out of this kind of thing when I was twelve. Call me a snob, but I kind of like articles and interviews to be longer than a paragraph. But if you like to stick up glossy pictures all over your wall, or are making a collage of outlandishly-garbed Norwegian dudes, then Hit Parader is the rag for you.

There was a time when this magazine used to be at the top, but not anymore. Now that metal, glam metal, and long haired bands are no longer popular, this magazine just really fades with them. It isn't a bad magazine however, as these people do try.....

In the 80's, this was the King of Metal Magazines, but now....it's just sad!

It might've been an informative magazine back in the 80s, but it doesn't mean much nowadays.

Well, the magazine is very uninformative and it seems like it repeats the same articles and news stories over and over again...it doesn't have any real news. But I buy it mostly for the pictures, which I have covering every inch of my room. So, if you are looking for music news on your favorite metal bands, don't pick up a Hit Parader...but if you love collecting pictures of your favorite bands, definitely pick up an issue...the pictures are awesome and the quality of the pictures are really good.
